Of all the temples in the Angkor Wat area, this one stands out from the rest. The story behind it is no different. Its shape like a half pyramid, use as a place of offerings.
Phimeanakas is close connected to the earth and the universe. Its name after the story of its construction. Truly, the connection between this temple and the heavens is very strong.
This celestial palace, where the previous king used this temple as a place of connection with a snake goddess, a symbol of protection. If the king and the snake goddess had to meet daily, they would receive good things, such as a long life for the king and protect Cambodia from disasters.
Phimeanakas has very interesting architecture. Most distinctively, this temple is shaped like a terrace with numerous galleries above it. It's brick red, composed of stone, sand, and clay (I think it's brick), and looks very sturdy.
The condition of the Phimeanakas Temple is very good and not too dangerous, as its shape like a half pyramid so there are not many pillars that could collapse easily. However, you should not climb or climb the stairs to reach the top and see what's above, even if you're curious.
Phimeaanakas Temple has some very interesting features, such as some of its structures still featuring lion statues between the steps. Not only on some of the steps, but also in every corner are carved with striking Khmer carvings. Isn't this truly Cambodia's greatest treasure?
Of course, I was very exciting to be at Phimeanakas Temple because I had heard stories about its history before. I finally feel the vibe of the story, and my curiosity was piqued.
It seems that Phimeanakas Temple is not just a legend but a fascinating topic to explore. Of course, this temple isn't just the main structure; more than 100 meters away, there's a truly enormous entrance. I suspect that it is true that this temple was very valuable at that time and became one of the must-visit places in the Angkor Wat area.
