Wat Damnak – Siem Reap, Cambodia

----- -----  Before waiting for tomorrow, after arriving in Siem Reap from the short flight from Kuala Lumpur to Siem Reap, I took the time to take an afternoon stroll around the city. While looking food for dinner and observ the local life, I luckily to see two temples in Siem Reap before night comes. This is Wat Damnak, located not far from the city center and near the famous Siem Reap River. This temple is noteworthy because it is where Cambodian Buddhists can pray and attend school. Of course, beside be a large temple, there is also a special school for monks.        Besides seeing the temple called Wat Damnak, I also got to see a traditional Cambodian house, which was truly captivating. Its beautiful architecture, full of culture, enrich my knowledge. I couldn't just see it in books, on the internet, or even in the news, now I can see it in real life. I immortalized this beauty by take a photos, reflecting the vastness and of the earth, and the rich cultural diversity of the world. One house is located on a artificial lake, while the other is on land. Both are near identical, each with its own distinctive grandeur, gold color carvings. Truly captivating, right?        Besides the traditional house, there are also Buddha statues, usually near large, shady trees. Some Buddha statues are seating, some are smiling with their legs crossed, others are praying. There are many other interest statues, each very different, but with the same purpose, is a place for prayer.  What's unique about this temple is that its very busy and feels like a green open space for the Cambodian people, in Siem Reap. You can see people going about their daily activity and being very busy with everything they have. Furthermore, this place is quite peaceful despite the bustle, watch the birds chirp and fly by, and the almost fading sunsets signaling the time of night. The temple is also very spacious, with several distinct and special sections. Therefore, I walked around the temple, because it was bustling and I could interact with the locals. I really enjoyed it. While waiting for the tuk-tuk we'd ordered online, we enjoyed the afternoon at the beautiful temple.   I think this is also a great place to visit if you are look to escape the solitude.
