This might be a pretty random post on my blog, but it’s because I was genuinely fascinated by this farm where visitors are invited to interact with the animals. Many of them looked really well cared for, which made me feel at ease. I know this isn’t their natural habitat and that spaces like this shouldn’t necessarily be normalized. Still, there are very few ways to interact with animals when you live in such a busy city like Lima. Finding places for these encounters is rare. But to be honest, this kind of practice will always remain an open conversation. On the positive side: admission to the farm is free, the animals are very well cared for, the spaces are clean, and there’s no overcrowding. On the negative side: even though admission is free, they sell food like plants or milk so visitors can feed the animals — sheep or goats — using bottles. It’s exciting for kids and adults, but I didn’t see anyone supervising the activity, so animals are being fed depending on visitors’ enthusiasm. Also, there’s an area where children can watch chicks hatching, but so many people gather around that it feels overwhelming for the animals. I didn’t feed any of them; I just admired each one quietly, and I was truly amazed by how beautiful and joyful they looked. The 🐖 was the one that intimidated me the most, but they were all adorable — chubby and clean, just really big! The alpaca, on the other hand, seemed so elegant and refined, always staring right at you. It was such a lovely experience 🥹
Posiblemente este sea un post bastante random en mi blog, pero es porque quedé fascinada con esta granja en la que se invitaba a la interacción con los animalitos. Muchos de ellos se veían bastante bien cuidados y eso me dejó muy tranquila. Sé que no es el hábitat natural para ellos y que este tipo de espacios no deben normalizarse. Igual creo que hay muy pocas formas de interactuar con ellos si se vive en una ciudad tan agitada como Lima. Encontrar espacios para estos encuentros son muy escasos. Pero siendo honestos, este tipo de prácticas seguirán siendo una conversación abierta. Entre lo positivo: en esta granja la entrada es gratis, los animales están muy bien cuidados, los espacios están bastantes limpios y no hay hacinamiento. Entre lo negativo: la entrada es gratis pero se vende la comida como plantas o leche para alimentar a los animalitos como las ovejas o cabras con biberones, lo que emociona mucho a los niños y adultos. Pero no ví supervisores de esto, entonces están alimentando a los animales a demanda de los visitantes. Por otro lado, los niños tienen un área para ver nacer a los pollitos y están muy encima de esa experiencia, creo es abrumador tanta gente rodeando esa zona. Yo no alimenté a ninguno, simplemente admiré a cada uno de ellos, y me sentí bastante impresionada con lo bonitos y alegres que son. El que más me intimidó fue el 🐖 pero se veían hermosos, gorditos y limpios, solo que eran muy grandes. La alpaca por otro lado me pareció un animal súper elegante y fino, como siempre mirándote de frente. Fue una experiencia muy bonita 🥹
