@aussieninja
This is a very fun version of the Cyclops, a monster I summon all the time in the Reverse Speed ruleset in the backline, made by @neidib. I do like this very clean, almost logo-like, style of art.
Hi everyone!
I just had my most successful season of Splinterlands... in many, many years. Before Chaos Legion came out, I did regularly play in Champs II for Wild, but since then, this is best season. I got into Champs III in both game formats before the season was halfway through. Usually I'm just (maybe) tapping it in the last couple of hours.
Since I hit it so early, I won the most Glint I've ever won.
The reason for my success is that the vast majority of my opponents do not have a maxed set of Conclave Arcana and people haven't quite worked out the maximally efficient builds yet, and so my chaotic way of playing is working.
As players work out the really good builds and collect the cards they need for those builds, I'll have a tougher time I'm sure.
In other news, I sold all my duplicate CA cards... and my original intention was to put all the DEC I made into the LPs to essentially start saving for the next edition... but.... I've also been worried about not having enough CP (Card Power) to get the airdrops I'll need for CA conflicts... so I purchased a full set of gold foil CA Epic cards. A lot of them were less than $10 a card.
Looking at the Best CP / Cost Ratio report on PeakMonsters I can see that market has changed quite a lot now and some of the expensive Black cards have dropped price enough to have a good ratio. It'll be interesting to see how that market goes, I imagine there just isn't a big enough market of players wanting to spend $600+ on single cards, even if their production points are huge.
It does worry me that the players who have been collecting the Black cards are going to have absolutely massive CP points and just have a massive amount of conflict airdrop chances compared to everyone else... but I'm also sure that's part of the reason why they collected those cards.
I now have 923,204 CP for the CA conflicts (still no info that I'm aware of when they start) and I hope that's enough to get max versions of the Legendary summoners.
Land is going really well. I was curious what I was going to do with my Artisan Quarters after CA was released... I had enough Midnight Potions for myself, and the secondary market absolutely plummeted, but Yaba's Pickle has kept me from building something else on that Land Plot.
No idea when it's coming out... but I've now got 400 Midnight Potions for the 400 cards I'll probably purchase, and now I'm just collecting Aura for the raffle tickets. I don't really want to spend much DEC on it... so I'll probably just pick one day and try for that... and if not, then not.
I haven't put anything into the Land Stone LP since I started mining Aura, but it's still there earning me DEC and Stone...

Obviously very happy with my performance this season, even if I might have peaked.
I do really like how the meta has completely changed in Modern... 0 MANA cards don't exist anymore, Forcefield isn't a thing - it's just a completely different game now which is really cool. We all have to somewhat relearn everything, and the Rebellion cards are still really strong. The designers have done a really great job.
I'm very happy with my win/ratio in both game formats.
I am trying to think a lot more about strategy and builds than I ever have. I usually play while I have videos running, so I'm not really locked in - but I am trying to change that to try and break into Champs II for that sweet, sweet Glint.
One thing I've never actually thought about before, because I've always been chasing Glint... but I may have actually been able to hit the Modern Diamond Leaderboard if I had stayed...
I got 3880... I usually am so worried about getting bounced out that I don't play after getting in at 3700.
Since I got to Champs III so early in the season, I had to keep playing because otherwise I'd win no Glint.
The Glint collection is way better in Champs III... but had I stayed in Diamond I would have earnt less... but won 150,000 Glint for placing on the Leaderboard:
I don't know if it's worth it or not. I definitely won't try it in Wild... my score wouldn't have made the Diamond Leaderboard last season. I've never ever stayed in a league... so it's cool that it might be an option but I'm probably not going to worry about it.

Glint season rewards will show in the season they are claimed.
The number above is usually in the 250K mark, so this feels like an absolutely massive win for me.
I nearly ended the season with a million Glint:
I probably would have.... in the first couple of days, when I got down to zero energy, I purchased 300 Minor Chests at 60,000 Glint. It's much better for me to make that purchase part way through the season because the energy is just too much to deal with otherwise.
This is my current progress towards a max set of Rebellion Reward cards from Splintercards:
I'm getting really, really close.
Alright, let's see how we go today...
100 Rare Draws for 75000 Glint with 0 Alchemy potions:
- 1 gold foil in that batch.
400 Common Draws for 60000 Glint with 0 Alchemy potions:
- I got 12!!!! gold foil common cards out of the 400. Amazing! I wonder if the PNG gods are smiling on me because lots of other players have already maxed out their common cards?
30 Ultimate Chests for 135000 Glint with 30 Alchemy potions and 30 Legendary potions:
- 3 Legendary gold!!
- 4 Legendary
- 6 Epic
- 8 Rare
- 6 Common Gold
- 14 Common
- 7 Legendary potions
- 42 energy
- 8,063 merits
Absolutely incredible haul here. Truly amazing. Very excited!
I'm so curious to see whether a legendary gold foil market pops up after Rebellion Rewards finish. There is currently zero liquidity because it costs 250,000 DEC to unlock ($242 USD) so no one is willing to gamble.
If I remember correctly, the Unbind cost drops to 10X when the set finishes but raises 1% for 5 months and is then at 15% for 18 months then they get locked forever. If all that is correct, I'll keep an eye on it to see if there is any market for Gold Foil Legendarys, otherwise I'll just burn them for Glint.
I've still got 720,567 Glint to go, which is normally what I start with... so I'll get...
150 Major Chests for 150000 Glint with 0 Alchemy potions and 0 Legendary potions:
- 188 cards including 3 GF commons and 21 Rare
- 91 Legendary potions
- 83 Alchemy potions
- 20,456 merits
- 54 energy
I started with 0 energy and now have 97, which feels pretty overwhelming.
I've now got a bunch of duplicate Common and Rare cards, and not enough of others, so I'll have to go through and sell and buy... not super fun but necessary to try and max it all out.
I'm going to pause with 570,567 Glint still, but may purchase Minor Chests later in the season.

I reconfigured my rentals finally... but I'm still not renting very much - I think people just generally aren't interested in the duplicate cards I have (I don't want rent out Rebellion cards because I'll want to use them to supplement my CA conflicts).

The SPS section is back, that's exciting! Thanks KioKizz!
I remembered to claim my SPS before the end of the season, so this feels pretty accurate. It's a lot lower because I emptied out my LPs to pay for CA, but I still made about $113 USD worth playing this game for 2 weeks, as well as all the reward cards. Pretty fun!
Here is how I've been going:

I initially spent 11,694,218 DEC ($11,459.16 USD at the time) on Conclave Arcana packs. After opening the value of the cards was $13,405.46 USD. I've now sold a bunch of cards, bought others and moved $1217.75 back to the liquidity pools and am sitting on 150K extra DEC (waiting to earn SPS to move it back) and Peakmonsters has my CA set valued at $8,578.97.
Of course, this set has allowed me to win a ton of Glint and hopefully max sets of the CA conflict airdrops, as well as potentially $1000+ worth of the promo cards (which I haven't sold at all and are included in the above numbers). I have no idea if this will or won't be a good investment... but it's a fun investment so far.
You can see how quickly the value of the cards dropped from that initial hype and fomo... and so I really do think a slow purchase over time is the smartest way to do it.
Hope the game and the economics are working well for you. Thanks for reading!
