I love this awesome and very different Splinterlands artwork from @rqr4 of Gobalano Soldier but made entirely of text. It looks great and it's so clever! It's super well done!
Hi everyone!
I have no been good in the Splinterlands at all. Part of the problem is that I've just been distracted by lots of other things... so using up all my energy feels more like a chore than a resource I'm excited to use.
It could just be the timing of when I like to play, but I think I'm finding it harder to find opponents in Modern as well... I've been flicking over to Wild more and more just because the matchmaking in Modern is slower than it used to be - which I imagine is possibly due to Survival and Frontier modes.
I am still super interesting in the Aura economy though. I've currently made a little gamble with Auction Marks that hasn't quite worked out like I hoped...
... but an early gamble did somewhat work out.
I had way more Aura than I needed for Mage Wagon Kits, so I sold 52 Auction Marks for $2.43 USD. Technically they cost me:
1,000 Aura (1,403 DEC) 50 Vouchers (1,565 DEC) 500 DEC
1403+1565+500=3,468DEC = $2.88 USD
So I sold at a loss, except because I had an abundance of Aura and Midnight potions aren't selling, it was my best way to convert to DEC.
Now I've got 45 Auction Marks for sale at $2.97... but the Tasoshi Drakamoto usecase for Auction Marks has completed...
... so now only the Pickle will need Auction Marks in the short-term future...
Personally I think there is still a significant oversupply of Aura - forcing land owners to sell resources at under cost price, but hopefully the Black Foil Pickle option drives up demand for Auction Marks.
I thought that the cost of repairing Mage Wagons would limit people participating in the Airdrop Conflicts (and while it still might, I've dropped from position 57 to position 66...
... this signals to me that people below me got lucky with some gold (223 versions at 12,500 power each) or black foil versions (5 versions at 262,500 power) of Zyrx the Emberglace - but also lots of people repaired the wagons they needed do... or people below me have invested in more cards to push up their airdrop chances up. Either way, the chase is real.
For Zyrx the Emberglace, I had enough chances to guarantee 14 cards, and I got 14...
With Zarin the Scorch it's estimated I'll get 13 guaranteed cards:
This means I'll need to repair 13 wagons, but I currently have enough resources to repair 23 wagons... mainly because I was able to invest the DEC that I got from selling Auction Marks to Wood, Iron and Stone.
I still don't know if I'm producing enough resources to repair the wagon kits I'll lose each 30 days... but if I can keep selling Auction Marks periodically I should be okay.
It's all super interesting and a fascinating part of the game.
For my own interest... here are the current Aura prices as calculated by https://land.spl-stats.com/resource:

My performance was.... not good.
Are the days of breaking into the Champions Leagues over? It was only 3 seasons ago that I hit Champs I... now I can barely get into Diamond I.
I will say that it's very likely to be my fault... along with the changes of Survival (only cards used in Survival are locked for Survival - it used to be that'd be locked everywhere). I'm not playing intelligently, I'm not adapting to changing metas... I'm really just playing to use up my energy as quickly as possible.
The game is great... but I've been putting in an hour or so daily for years now.
I guess I did manage to hit 15th place in Modern for Diamond I and score myself some leaderboard Glint... but I wasn't aiming for that at all, and was surprised when it popped up at the end of the season. Those leaderboard prizes are also super dependent on where you placed last season and what everyone else is doing - which was Diamond I, position 101 with a rating of 3640... higher than my prize-winning rating this season.

Looks like the table above is missing the 150K Glint leaderboard prize... maybe it'll show up next season. I've now cracked 5M Glint ready for the Conclave Arcana reward cards, although I haven't seen anything on when they might come out.

Splinterlands truly is a great game in the way the meta is constantly changing... but it does make it hard for lazy guys like myself to keep up... but I still find it amazing that we can potentially earn by playing a game.
