Love the action in this Chaos Lackey piece by @deddywox. The card itself has a lot of action, so this is a perfect tribute to it. So good!
Hi everyone!
I hope Splinterlands has been going really well for you. It's been going really well for me, which was honestly pretty unexpected. I'll get into it in a minute, but first I want to mention the Conclave Arcana Reward cards that I've been waiting a couple of months for.
So... just for context:
- It's really hard to play in Diamond and Champs leagues without maxed cards. Sometimes you can outstrategize your opponent and win, but on the whole, you'll get outmuscled most of the time.
- I only managed to max out 3 of 12 Chaos Legion Legendary Reward cards (I maxed out all Commons and Rares but only 1 of 7 Epic cards). I just could not afford to purchase the remainders when the set ended.
- With so many unmaxed Legendary and Epic Chaos Legion Rewards cards, there's just a ton of really good powerful cards that I just can't use in Champs.
- If I remember correctly, you could only rely on the luck of Loot Chests for Chaos Legion, so there was no real way to be strategic about it.
- For the Rebellion Reward set, you could target specific rarities in the Rewards Shop, so I choose Legendaries first (since they are the most expensive to purchase), then Epics, then Rares and Commons, and managed to complete the Regular Foil set a couple of months ago.
- I've never managed to max out a Gold Foil Reward card ever... and while I'd be happy to accidentally get one, I'm happy enough to sell (if I can afford to unbind) or burn them for Glint.
So... with that all said, I'm super excited about the Rebellion Reward set that hopefully goes live on the 21st of October (in less than a fortnight from today)!
I love that they have all these mechanics and processes for people to chase the Black Foil and Arcane cards... and while I'll likely participate (although I'll be restricted to an entry cap of 20 Fortune Draw tickets per week) - that's all way less important to me than having a playable set of cards.
It's going to be the exact same size as the Rebellion Reward set, so I should be able to get it maxed out in 9 or so months (especially with my 6M Glint head start) and then I can worry about Gold or Black Foil or Arcana cards or whatever.

The reason the game went so well for me this season is that I managed to grab a leaderboard Glint prize in both Modern Champions (50K) and Wild Diamond (200K) and it led me to have a horrible, terrible idea...
... what if I just stopped playing before I broke into Champs?
Now, hear me out...
Firstly win-trading and playing to lose is against the rules:

This is really important and I super agree with it... it sucks to have people manipulate the leaderboards just to place and win. I hate all of that.
The question I'm curious about is.... is the amount of Glint I'd be sacrificing if I didn't play the full season worth it to place on the leaderboard?
Last Season (79) I played 382 games overall, won 199 of those and won 3516 SPS & 294K Glint.
This report (Season 80) I played 384 games, won 199 (wow!) and won 3772 SPS & 324K Glint.
I imagine the 30K extra Glint is from hitting Champs III in both Modern and Wild.
This current season I'm playing (Season 81) there is 4.5 days to go, I'm sitting on 1839 SPS & 186K Glint.
If I stopped playing this season... I'd be sacrificing 100-130K Glint in normal wins, but I'd drop down to Diamond in both leagues and I think my collection is strong enough to maybe place in the top 10 of both Diamond Modern and Diamond Wild - maybe earning me 200K in each.
It's a gamble, for sure, but I had never ever won any Glint on any leaderboards before a couple of seasons ago, and that's because I accidentally fell down to Diamond. When I'm dabbling in Champs III season after season I can't quite make the leaderboards.
If I followed through with this plan, I'd basically have to stop playing every second season, and then make it into Champs III on the seasons I fully play. It's risky - and I'd be negating the Champs III Loot Chests (which might not make it worth it when I'm chasing the Conclave Arcana Reward cards).
Something to think about at least...

Last Season I went on this whole spiel that if you're going to buy Vouchers, you have to do it in the exact right order using TribalDex and the internal Splinterlands conversion tools... anyway, I did do that and added 3767 vouchers to my stash, bringing it up to 13K. I use the DAR 'GOTTEM' GEARNUT card in Modern all the time... and so I think it's important to have at least 11.5K Vouchers on hand before anything exciting is announced.
Anyway, hope the game is fun for you and you had a good season. I am so excited about the Conclave Arcana Reward Cards!!!! Thanks for reading!
