>There are trips where you seriously wonder if you'll ever reach your destination and how you'll get there, and the journey seems to take forever, even though it's actually quite short.

Many things have happened to me, especially on buses and in Argentina. In the city where I lived, there was a time when a company took over bus transportation, introducing new buses, but it turned out that they took them to another city and put the oldest ones in mine, causing many inconveniences, such as one of them catching fire. It was also common for there to be no service because the buses broke down, leaving us stranded halfway, and I was always late everywhere. In that case, I preferred to walk.
>Also, when I traveled regularly to a town to visit my godmother, there were many trips where we were at risk of crashing or overturning on the highway due to heavy rain or thick fog. The stress I suffered was indescribable; it was three hours of suffering.
But the worst trip that came to mind as soon as I read the questions for this weekend was a school trip in 1995. It seems like it was in another life, it was a long time ago, but I remember it because it had a big impact on me at the time.
It was a trip organized by the school I attended for students in their last year of high school. Since I wasn't going on the end-of-year trip because it was too expensive, I went on the field trip, which was much cheaper. The destination was the capital. We were accompanied by teachers and some mothers.
>It was only five days, but it was extremely intense. We walked all day without stopping, touring the main streets, visiting the Casa Rosada, the congress, the cathedral, the zoo, and much, much more.
But at the end of the first day, it started to rain heavily and it was getting dark quickly, so we split into groups. There were a lot of us girls, so we took a taxi to get back to the hotel. I was with two of my classmates and one of the mothers who was accompanying us, and we took a taxi too. Although we didn't know the city, we realized that the taxi was taking a long time to arrive and was driving around in circles in very strange places.

We all started to get very scared, and the mother who was with us asked the taxi driver where he was taking us. It was a dangerous situation. We were all women in a very big city, and people could tell we weren't from there just by our accent.
The taxi driver said he was taking us where we had told him, and an argument began between the mother and the man, who claimed that we had given him an address that was not the one we had actually mentioned. I think his intention was to charge us a fortune for the trip. At that moment, I wasn't thinking about anything else, but there could have been other reasons as well.
After the argument, we got out, paid for the part of the trip we had taken, and found ourselves in unfamiliar, wet streets, not knowing what to do. Until the owner of a store told us to take a bus, which of course none of us knew. Very suspiciously, we kept asking around to see if several people agreed on which bus we should take.
We got on and there was no one else there. The bus was empty, which made us even more afraid. It was turning into a suspense movie or something like that. We distrusted everyone and were really lost and scared. Although the bus arrived at its destination safely, we didn't think it would after our experience with the taxi, but we arrived safe and sound.
>Maybe the trip doesn't seem so tragic, but the things that go through your mind at that moment make it a terrifying journey and you get very scared.

I think the worst thing is how you experience those moments, what you think and feel on a bumpy ride. This topic immediately caught my attention among the [weekend topics](https://peakd.com/hive-168869/@galenkp/weekend-engagement-topics-week-274) presented by @galenkp.
Thank you all very much for joining me today. I wish you all a very good weekend. See you soon.
