Today is Halloween, and for me, it's Art Friday. What better way to combine these two things than by creating a witch, because I love witches, but related to the Day of the Dead and the holiday where pumpkins come to life with faces carved by people, but at a certain time, they will be the ones to take the souls of this world or communicate the souls of the other side with this one, and not exactly for good things.
A day when anything can happen and terror can take over the streets, houses and people's minds, when black cats become giant panthers and serve as a link between the two worlds. A day of darkness, where the sinister lurks in every corner. This witch of the dead will use her power to enchant the pumpkins and conquer the world of the living and take them away.
# Design process
The design was created entirely in Photoshop CS6, with eight copyright-free images arranged in 21 layers, without using AI.
To create the background, I used an image of a dark forest, in which I placed the image of the castle, erasing much of the background and applying a darker colour blend. Then I placed the image of the skull in two parts of the design, on two layers with a soft light blend.
On one side, I placed the image of the black cat in three layers with darker colour blending, soft light and lighter colour, and then I began to work on the image of the witch, of which I used part of it, especially the face, placing it in three layers, erasing the background beforehand and using overlay, darker colour and lighten blending. On the woman's face, I placed what I called Day of the Dead makeup in two layers, erasing quite a bit of the background and using darker and lighter colour blends.
I used one of the pumpkins to place it in two places in the design, in two layers with the lighter colour blend, and then I distributed the other pumpkin image in seven layers, with the same blend in different parts of the design, each with a different scale.
The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Hoy es Halloween y para mí es viernes de arte que mejor que combinar esas dos cosas creando una bruja, porque me encantan las brujas, pero relacionada con el día de los muertos y la festividad donde las calabazas cobran vida con esos rostros que fueron tallados por las personas pero que a determinada hora serán las que se lleven las almas de este mundo o comuniquen las almas del otro lado con este y no precisamente para cosas buenas.
Un día en donde todo puede pasar y el terror se puede apoderar de las calles, las casas y de los interiores de las personas, donde los gatos negros serán grandes panteras, gigantes y servirán de nexo entre los dos mundos. Un día de oscuridad, donde lo tenebrosos se encuentra en todos los rincones. Esta bruja de los muertos usará el poder que tiene para hechizar las calabazas y conquistará el mundo de los vivos y se los llevará.
# Proceso del diseño
El diseño esta realizado completamente en Photoshop CS6, con ocho imágenes sin derechos de autor y dispuestas en 21 capas, sin utilizar IA.
Para crear el fondo usé una imagen de un bosque oscuro, en el que coloqué la imagen del castillo borrando gran parte del fondo y aplicando la fusión de color más oscuro. Luego puse en dos partes del diseño, en dos capas con fusión luz suave la imagen de la calavera.
A un lado coloqué la imagen del gato negro en tres capas con fusiones de color más oscuro, luz suave y color más claro y luego comencé a trabajar la imagen de la bruja, de la cual usé parte de ella, sobre todo el rostro, la dispuse en tres capas, borrando el fondo previamente y con las fusiones de superponer, color más oscuro y aclarar. Sobre el rostro de la mujer puse la que llamé maquillaje del día de muertos en dos capas, borrando bastante fondo y con las fusiones de color más oscuro y color más claro.
Usé una de las calabazas para ponerla en dos lugares del diseño, en dos capas con la fusión de color más claro y luego la otra imagen de calabazas las distribuí en siete capas, con la misma fusión por distintas partes del diseño, con distinta escala cada una.
La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
