>Much of what we see as complicated is actually simple, but it all depends on the eyes with which we look at it.

Everything in life can be complicated or simple, and that depends on the observer, and the observers are us, the people who inhabit this planet. Things or situations are just that, things or situations, but depending on how we approach them, we can make them easy and simple or very complicated.
Men and women are different in that respect. I recognise and admire that men are more practical than women, they solve problems in a different way, they go from point A to point B, without going through the whole alphabet. Women love to go through all the letters, well, not all women, there are some who are very practical, that's true.
So, in recent years, recognising this ability in men, I like to learn from it and I have become more objective and practical, especially when it comes to problem solving, although sometimes the old woman comes out, I try to control her.

>So life is simple and, in general, it is people who complicate things.
One of the things that everyone has to deal with is paperwork or administrative procedures, which we often have to do at different organisations, whether public or private. I could name several of them, such as banks, town halls, post offices, online delivery services, telephone companies, electricity companies, and the list would be endless.
The paperwork is not complicated at all, just simple forms, data and quick decisions... but no, people make it difficult. There is too much bureaucracy, in some countries more than others, but it exists and that makes something so simple take a long time and cause many inconveniences, especially for the people who need to carry out that procedure.

>I will give two examples from my own experience.
Last year, I had to renew my Argentine bank cards. It wasn't a formality, it was a nightmare, because the bank employees made things difficult at every turn or delayed the process, when it was very simple. Or often the employees don't feel like working and don't serve you. The reason is simple: most of them are relatives of others who work at the bank, meaning they get a secure job because they know someone else there. Someone from the bank itself told me this.
> Everyone I've spoken to who goes to this bank has the same problems. Isn't it easier to be friendly and efficient? Apparently not; making things difficult is more fun... for them.
The second example is more recent. I bought something online, something heavy, and the delivery company didn't feel like working either, because I received a notice that the package could not be delivered because the address was incomplete. I checked the address and it was correct. There was a second attempt, same message.
>When I called, I got an answering machine, so of course I couldn't resolve the issue. I sent an email, but it was never answered. Magically, today the package arrived. Wasn't the address incomplete? How did it get there? Why do people complicate simple tasks? I don't know.
---
---
Fortunately, everything gets resolved, but the waste of time is staggering. Time is valuable and could be spent on other things. I think I've had a cathartic experience today, yes. But it's a reality that often, though not always and not everywhere, procedures and formalities are more complicated than they should be.
