>I think the most special places, at least for me, are those that combine nature, art and history. Even if these natural spaces are man-made, they are still very valuable.
---

Several years ago, before joining Hive, I visited this place for the first time. I was accompanying my mother to the ophthalmologist, and since the place was relatively close by, I decided to see what it was all about and noticed that there were many builders working there. A few days ago, after a long time, I returned and found it completely renovated, much more beautiful, and as it was a cloudy day, it was inviting to explore it completely, since the sun would not burn me so much on these summer days.

This is the botanical garden of the University of Malaga (UMA) located in the Teatinos district. In general, this entire area is related to the different faculties. Around the garden, there are many buildings, each corresponding to the different faculties. The university hospital is also located in this area.

>What surprises me most, and pleasantly so, is that the students have a natural space, specially created for them, where they can go, close to the university, to study, rest and even eat. There are benches there for all of this.
The entrance shows us a vast area where we can enjoy various species from many parts of the world, a space designed on several levels. That is one of the things I liked most about the botanical garden, an impeccable design by sectors and also very well maintained in terms of the paths, the trimming of the bushes, and the care of the plants and trees.
---

---
Not only that, but they also take care to put a kind of poison on the pine trees, as this year there has been a lot of talk about a caterpillar that can cause several problems if touched, as it is toxic, and I saw some on those trees that I had never seen before.
>The spaces are large and beautiful, some with a lot of sun, although it was cloudy that day, and other areas with a lot of shade.
All the plant species were properly labelled with their scientific name and sometimes another name by which they are known and their country of origin. There were also signs referring to groups of plants and species. I really appreciated the organisation of the place and the beautiful atmosphere.

---
Walking along the different paths in the garden fills you with energy. Strolling among the plants of different sizes, letting the light shine through them and breathing in the fresh air is beautiful. The garden is located far from the city centre and the air is very different.
>There are four areas that I would like to highlight, as they are the ones I liked the most. All three have water, which is why I think they are my favourites.
---

---
The first is a large fountain with high, criss-crossing jets, with seats on both sides and surrounded by vegetation. The number of types and shades of green is amazing, and sitting in these places, you can look at the surroundings and marvel at them, as well as listen to the birds singing and enjoy the gentle breeze.
---

---
The second area also has a water fountain with very high jets in the centre. This area is covered, or rather semi-covered, as light is allowed in. It is located in the centre of the garden and is a good place to take a break from the tour, read a book or simply look at the surroundings.
---

---
The third place, and one of my favourites, is located between the other two, practically at the back of the garden, where there is a beautiful round fountain with a lovely design in the centre called La Dama de la Higuera (The Lady of the Fig Tree). The sculpture is indeed shaped like a woman and is surrounded by fig leaves.
Nearby is a sign, which was very stained, understandably so, due to both birds and tree sap.
It was created by Dutch artist Martie Van Der Loo and has been in place since 2019. The female image prevails, blending fantasy and reality with a strong yet gentle expression. It combines the shape of a palm tree trunk with fig leaves. It is 210 cm high and made of green marble. I really love it, what else can I say, it's beautiful.

The last area, which is also my favourite, is a large pond with water lilies, surrounded by paths and benches where you can stroll. I have always liked areas with water, as they are a symbol of life and positive energy, especially if the water is moving.

Although I highlight these areas because they are the ones I liked the most, the entire botanical garden is absolutely beautiful, full of design, good taste, layout and harmony. It is well worth visiting and spending an entire afternoon there, perhaps even enjoying a nice picnic and the natural atmosphere in the middle of the university district.
Thank you very much for joining me today. Best regards. See you soon.
