Jihan Fanyra reads poetry.
Jihan Fanyra, a female student from Dayah Jeumala Amal Lueng Putu, Pidie Jaya, and a fifth-semester student in the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Department at UIN Sultanah Nahrasiyah Lhokseumawe, has qualified as one of 30 finalists for the 2025 National Santri Ambassador.
She will represent Aceh Province in this prestigious event, which will be held in Boyolali, Central Java, in mid-October.
The 2025 National Santri Ambassador selection is being held by the National Santri Ambassador Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Central Java Provincial Government, in commemoration of National Santri Day, October 22, 2025.
This event is not just a competition, but a platform to appreciate the important role of Islamic boarding schools in producing the nation's next generation who are knowledgeable, moral, and make a real contribution to society.
This year, 5,995 Islamic boarding school students (pesantren) from across Indonesia registered. The selection process was rigorous, encompassing administrative stages, interviews, program pitches, and presentations. Of these, 200 participants were selected, who were then narrowed down to the top 60, and finally announced the 30 finalists, consisting of 15 male and 15 female students.
"Alhamdulillah, it is an honor to represent Aceh in this national event. I hope to bring the spirit of Islamic boarding schools and introduce Aceh's local wisdom to the national stage," said Jihan Fanyra in Lhokseumawe, Sunday, October 5, 2025.
The finalists will undergo quarantine from October 19–25, 2025, at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory in Boyolali, Central Java, before advancing to the semifinals and grand final. During this stage, the finalists will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to prepare them to become role models and agents of change, capable of championing Islam as a blessing for the universe.
The 2025 National Santri Ambassadors are expected to prioritize Islamic boarding school values, play an active role in various fields—from religion, education, science, social issues, law, health, economics, culture, to the environment—and serve as an inspiration for the younger generation at the national and international levels.
When asked about her readiness as Aceh's representative at the 2025 National Santri Ambassadors, Jihan, who is also an adept writer, stated that she was ready. However, she shyly admitted to still being confused about transportation and accommodations to Central Java.
"Hopefully, there will be a solution so I can focus on fighting to bring honor to Aceh at the national level," said the 2023 North Aceh Tourism Ambassador finalist.[]
