Conforming to standard of conduct is very important in my course of study but some industries might not put that into consideration.some products are altered,the label won't state the exact ingredients in it,so by doing that people won't know,that is very wrong and will warrant penalty if caught.
Food is very important to human health,it's not just about the money but the content ,if it's dangerous or good for the body.
I remember when I wanted to propose my project topic,the topic was good but I was asked to look for ethical acceptance because what I wanted to use was edible but it wasn't used globally,so to avoid harming the consumers,I had to look for ethical considerations.
Ethical considerations is very important more than profit to me,I wouldn't want to harm others because I want to make money, whatever I want to do must be good for the people and then profit follows.
I'm talking about consumables here because that's my line and I'm versatile there,if it has to do with clothings or other items that are not edible, ethical considerations might not really be needed since it won't affect the health but as long as it's edible ethical considerations is very important.
Let me also say that moderation is key to everything,even if a product doesn't harm, taking too much of it might cause damages,it wasn't because there wasn't any ethical knowledge but the consumer is to be blamed for any of that.
Another reason I will prioritize ethics is that if a product is produced and it causes damages, people will stop buying the product which will eventually cause loss of profits and leads to shutting down of the company,the company will be investigated and the owner or workers will be arrested for not conforming to the code of conducts.
There is someone I know who went ahead to conduct microbiological testing on some products that are produced locally,she conducted the test and realize some viable count of microorganisms in them,the product is generally consumed,those little microbes can cause damages in years to come in the body of anyone that takes it,and should I say this that there are some organism that doesn't die even when heated,there are some that doesn't die even when freeezed,so people need to be careful on what they take inside the body.
So any day, anytime, ethical considerations is very important or most important, while we are at it,profit is also very important,why start a company if it's not to make profit but there should be a balance between the two,happy customers always come back for more,the moment they know your product is good and won't cause harm,be ready to make massive profits,so striking balance between the two is making the consumers happy with your product and you will always make profit.
