Pablo Alfonso Fernández Gallo, conocido como Paulito FG, "El Sofocador de la salsa" cantante, compositor cubano y director de La Élite. Nació el 11 de enero de 1962, en el popular barrio Buena Vista, en La Habana. Adquirió de su madre Caridad Gallo, pianista y poeta, el gusto y su capacidad para la música. Desde pequeño cantaba mientras su madre lo acompañaba al piano. Más tarde comenzó a dar clases de varias asignaturas musicales y a tocar el bajo.En el año 1992, fundó su propia orquesta, bautizándola como La Élite, la cual está conformada por músicos cubanos de alta calidad, siendo una de las primeras orquestas dentro de la preferencia del público gozador de la música popular cubana.

El repertorio que interpreta Paulito FG junto a La Élite, ostenta diversos géneros musicales, logrando abarcar un vasto espectro, entre ellos podemos mencionar: la Rumba, el Son, el Jazz, la Salsa, el Rap, el Bolero y la Balada. Comprende un sinnúmero de temas propios del cantante y versiones como la del tema “Laura” de Nek. Paulo FG, fue el primer músico cubano que incorporó una mujer a una orquesta conformada por hombres. Las primeras mujeres que tuvo en el grupo no eran cantantes o coristas, sino bailarinas. Ya para el año 2002, La Élite contaba con dos voces femeninas, que hacían contracantos con la voz de su director.

Esto se evidencia en una gira nacional que efectuó en el año 2010, con el propósito de recaudar fondos para la enseñanza artística, mediante el cual dio a conocer su álbum Sin Etiqueta.Paulo FG, ha llevado su música a numerosas naciones: Colombia, Bahamas, México, Perú, España, Japón, Francia, Finlandia, Dinamarca, Holanda, EUA, Bélgica, Suiza, Argentina e Italia.

Paulito FG murió este 1 de marzo del 2025 en un trágico accidente automovilístico en la Habana Cuba a sus 63 años de edad. sin duda un duro golpe para la cultura cubana su legado perdurará para siempre.
