Hello Vibes Family🤭 It's been a while. I trust you reading this has been well. I decided to share my post even though it's late because:
- I didn't want it to 'waste' in my gallery.
- Someone called it 'too dramatic' and I'm posting it to prove I don't care 💅.
Anyway, a little back story and lesson I want to share.
So this week, I decided to perform Love on the Brain by Rihanna, a song I absolutely love for how raw and emotional it is. Funny enough, I actually recorded this a while ago, but I wasn’t satisfied with it. I kept thinking, “I sound too pitchy here,” or “This riff doesn’t sound right", and someone actually told me "I was too dramatic". I planned to re-record it before the cutoff time, but I just never got the chance to. And by the time I was ready, the cutoff had already been called.
At first, I was a little frustrated because I really wanted to fix those “flaws.” But then it hit me :- this whole situation is such a reflection of life. We sometimes wait for the “perfect” moment, the perfect version, the perfect timing… and in the end, time passes us by. I kept overthinking every detail instead of just appreciating what I already had.
So even though this version isn’t what I’d call “perfect,” it’s real. It’s raw. It’s me:- feeling every word of the song, even if my voice cracks a little, even if it’s not flawless. And yes I was dramatic too but who cares? That's how I feel the song and I enjoyed recording it too! So yeah I am definitely posting it.
I guess the lesson here is that sometimes, it’s okay not to have perfection. It’s okay to show up even when things aren’t exactly how you imagined. What matters is that you showed up. 💜
