Once upon a time, there were only a few well-experienced hackers who were capable of hacking into a system. With the help of technological advancement and the way we use AI and ML, it is easy to do penetration testing and find out the vulnerabilities. Today security job is something that is of high demand. Companies invest a lot on security because every day there is a new technological advancement, and for all these things a protection is required on the application level.
I have to admit that the technology world is drastically improving after AI got introduced. Today, companies have been investing a lot of money into security. Getting the code created on GPT or a similar AI is a good thing, but we have to make sure the code is fully correct and secure. That job is being done by experts who are experienced and mostly humans. Security checks are becoming the top priority these days, and many people are applying for those security jobs, and they are getting the best demand.
Chat GPT is also helping hackers
We think that we have all the knowledge with us to add protection to our application, but we have to remember the fact that hackers also have all the applications that are required to think differently. Today, people are building applications or writing code with low code or no-code applications that can have additional vulnerabilities. People get the code from AI using a chat application. The answers that are provided by the GPT is also predictable, and the same answer is also given to a hacker.
Hackers interact with GPT and brainstorm a lot of things and find new and unique ways to hack the system. Unlike old days, there are software or AI tools available that can review the complete code that we upload and provide the context of the code. If we have some questions on the code, we can ask the questions to GPT and get the answers. At the same time, it can also list out the vulnerabilities available in the code that can create an entry point for hackers. Open source developers will have to be very careful now because AI tools can analyze code faster than humans.
Security is an ever-changing or ever-demanding field where it is hard to predict the outcome. Since it is no longer humans that is thinking but the thinking happens with AI as well, we will need more tools designed to counter the thinking of AI. If there is Ultron, then we need Jarvis or a powerful Jarvis to counter Ultron. That's how we have to advance in terms of technology and beat an AI with another AI. The future will move in that direction if I'm not wrong.
