It appears that there is no proper proof established for this, but something makes me think that there could be a link between autoimmune diseases and microplastics. Today, the number of people having autoimmune diseases is increasing. There is no proper explanation that tells us the cause of this. It is an unexplained condition where our own immune system tries to attack our own body and does damage. Sometimes, if we don't address the issue, the damage done may not even be reversed. Today, many popular celebrities are also suffering from unexplained autoimmune diseases. They find it very hard to get back to their regular lifestyle.
Steroid medication is the only way to keep this auto-attacking in control. Our own antibodies try to attack the healthy cells and tissues, thinking that there is a problem. Today, no concrete research has been made explaining why this happens. My mother recently got admitted for a sudden spike in her Rheumatoid arthritis condition. This is when I started reading more about autoimmune diseases. They say there is no explanation on why it happens, and at the same time, there is also no single cure for this. The only medication is to keep it under control and just manage it throughout life.
The unexplained mystery
I hope soon someone finds an answer to this unexplained mystery soon. There are research works going on trying to find answers, but we don't have any concrete answers yet. I tried to reach out to Google to understand if microplastics would be a reason for this, as we are consuming a lot of microplastics by mistake. Sometimes these microplastics can stay in the tissues of our body, creating unexplained inflammations. Our own antibodies try to attack them by mistake. This is just a theory, and we still don't have concrete proof of this finding yet.
Overall, we know that microplastics are very bad for our health. In the future, there might be a situation where people might die for unknown reasons and undiagnosed reasons, and my feeling says that silently, microplastics can be the reason for that and it will be unexplainable in the clinical results. One fine day, someone might find some concrete proof to explain and evaluate. Who knows, they might even come up with a test that shows non-biodegradable foreign materials like microplastics in our body and find a way to remove them and make people healthy again.
