I'm on day 2 of this inktober and it actually looks promising for me ^^ Well, I hope because drawing after work is not easy and I don't think I have enough hours to carry out the entire art month again ;;-;; there just really isn't enough hours in my day and I clearly don't have enough energy throughout my day to continuously draw after work. Nonetheless, I will push forward and see how far I go this year because I am really trying to prove myself here XD
Prompt for today is weave and I was gonna go for a loom but what better way to represent the prompt than one of nature's natural weavers? I do love spider webs and i love creepy spiders so it's a win for me and it makes my brain happy XD
Materials: Black pen, white pen, chalk Duration: 2 hours
I actually worked pretty fast on this one but that's mostly because Salvadore Dali was a pretty good warm up for my hands. I started off with a rough pencil sketch on inked paper and I love how used I already am to the pens I'm using these days. I would have skipped the sketch layer but I'm not as confident as I used to be with my skills now. Maybe at some point throughout the month but for now, I need that sketch layer before I can actually do the pen layer.
there's really no special technique here this time, just the classic sketch and shape as I went down the legs. So, the pilot pen really is the best for the first layer of ink lines because the bic pen is too heavy on the ink and it kind of blots sometimes ^^ And blotting is a big no for me when I'm just trying to make things smooth
I did eventually just shape everything, so I didn't have to think much, i just had to shade everything in
Then about an hour and a half in, I was already highlighting XD and the highlight pen I have with me... idk it becomes a little transparent when it dries unlike the pens I used to have a few months ago. IDK I think I may need to check other white pen options one of these days.
Then after all the highlighting and extra inking, I finished~~
And that is my day 2! I kind of liked this prompt ^^ or at least, where I went with this. Will I like day 3 too? This, i don't know but I will make a rough sketch later and figure out how to do the crown prompt.
