Hello hello ^^ I a so sorry I've gone missing for a while again. I tried but it's always around the months of May to July where I'm really the busiest. Supposedly it should be busy because it was summer but with elections done and over and people have started settling into their roles, I see mine site activities all over the Philippines picking up again and I swear, it's really going and it hasn't stopped since.
I was really waiting for slack season again so I can give myself time to breathe.
I did get what I was asking for though, but not in ways I expected XD So last week, I came home from the mine site in the midst of all the rain and the storms. It wasn't even so bad when I got back to Manila on Monday like.. it was still raining nonstop and I was basically glued to the weather forecast in case the mine site I'm currently assigned to would be a landfall area. Fortunately it wasn't. But my area of residence did take a hit the following day ;;-;;
Out of habit, I woke up at 5am and OMG the flood water was already this high. My mom told me that this happens at least once or twice a year so far since we moved to this house but still, I haven't really seen the flood get this high inside the house yet. Mom told me to go back to sleep because the water might go down by morning.
The water did not go down, if anything, it actually got higher and the fact that the rain did not stop at all did not help the situation XD
So this was how bad the water got outside. There was no electricity in my area for a while too, good thing it was cold so nobody even minded.
It was amusing to me to see that boats actually fit our narrow passages better than cars? so IDK I spent a few minutes staring at the sailing boats passing by XD
Then the scariest thing happened! My poor cat almost drowned ;;-;; his litter box got drifted away and IDK why he chased after it like his life depended on it. He eventually fell into the water, my youngest sister rescued him and we ended up giving him a bath in the bathroom upstairs. The cat was soooo traumatized by the flood and flood water that he didn't go downstairs for a while, even when the water went down. For the rest of the flooding, and probably for the rest of the week, he just stayed in my bed
This was him after getting washed up and dry. He kept hiding in the blanket and has refused to get out for a few days unless it's for food or to use the makeshift liter box we set up for him XD
Well, the flood did go down by the afternoon when our food supply was almost out.
But it didn't vanish in the same day, it just got low enough to be passable. And since we only had one pair of boots, I was the unfortunate sacrifice to go outside in the pouring rain to gather supplies and to get food ;;-;; that trip was so bad because there was no public transport and I had to walk to and from the grocery store. The going back was pure hell because I had bags of take out food, another bag of supplies and a 10L container of water.
Also saw this funny frog couple doing the naughty and I'm not even surprised because the rainy season is their mating season XD
By Wednesday, the flood wasn't completely gone still.I think it only cleared up around Thursday ten we had electricity again by Thursday morning, not sure but I finally got out to do proper groceries for the house. I can't buy much now though because the fridge drowned so we can only buy exact portions for now until we can get it checked to see if it can still be revived or if we'll have to buy a new fridge and maybe we'll just put that upstairs too.
So that's my flood experience and my comeback blog XD I hope you guys missed me? I missed being here but I just really didn't have the energy to interact and generally think when thinking is basically what I'm paid to do every day now ;;-;;
I will see you guys again in the next few days!
OMG it feels soooooo good to be back!
