Still Stacking ..
I promised you in my last post that I would write soon about some new silver additions to our stack. Well here it is. Four shiny new ounces added to the vault. Two beautiful 2024 W Silver Eagle dollars and two 1 ounce Morgan Silver bars.
As I mentioned before, we had not seen my parents since early November. So our Christmas and Easter gifts arrived a little later than usual. My parents are stackers too, so the choice of gift was not exactly a surprise. But still, every time we crack open a stocking or an egg and find that glint of silver inside, it brings a quiet joy.
These four little treasures are now locked away for safekeeping and future smiles. It never gets old.
Still Growing ..
But silver is not the only thing showing growth around here.
Take a look at what our Amaryllis plants are doing. I completely forgot about them this year. Around March I usually bring them up and get them into the light. This time, totally missed it.
Huxley keeping a close eye as usual
Fast forward to mid May. I was hauling patio furniture up from the basement and there they were — looking neglected but not defeated. I actually said out loud to no one in particular, "Oh S#\$T."
One good drink of water. A spot in the sun. And nature did the rest.
The biggest bulb has taken off like a rocket. I did not get a photo on the day I brought them up, May 10th, but what you are seeing below is about 15 days of growth.
Unreal. Just wild.
Stay tuned. I think this one is going to bloom bigger than ever.
And as always, thanks for stopping by.
More silver stories, garden surprises, and maybe a few Mr. Huxley adventures coming soon.
