Hi friends of Hive,
Here I am back to show you the wonders of Italy! Today I want to propose to you again an
event that I carry in my heart: the Bienno Market Exhibition, where artists and artisans from
all over Italy gather to exhibit their creations. The exhibition takes place in the last two weeks
of August, this year from 23 to 31 August. The country is transformed into a real open-air
exhibition, where everyone can show their art.
And’ truly wonderful because art merges with the country itself, to become one!
This year I wanted to bring home one of the wonderful handmade hot air balloons… mine is Monet-themed and I’ve already put it in my daughter’s room!

Eccomi tornata per mostrarvi le meraviglie dell’Italia! Oggi voglio proporvi nuovamente un
evento che porto nel cuore: la Mostra Mercato di Bienno, dove artisti e artigiani provenienti
da tutta Italia si radunano per esporre le loro creazioni. La mostra si svolge le ultime due
settimane di Agosto, quest’anno dal 23 al 31 Agosto. Il paese si trasforma in una vera e
propria mostra all’aperto, in cui ognuno può mostrare la propria arte.
E’ davvero meraviglioso perché l’arte si fonde con il paese stesso, per diventare un tutt’uno!
Io quest’anno ho voluto portarmi a casa una delle meravigliose mongolfiere realizzate a mano… la mia é a tema Monet e l’ho già messa in camera di mia figlia!
The market exhibition takes place in Bienno, a village immersed in Valle Camonica. We are
located in Lombardy and precisely in the province of Brescia. The village is known for its
artisan iron production workshops, the forges. During the exhibition period it is possible to
visit the forges and understand how this ancient profession was carried out.
In addition to this there are numerous other artists and craftsmen of ceramics, wood,
painting or sculpture. In short, it is truly a place full of art and beauty.
La mostra mercato si svolge a Bienno, un borgo immerso nella Valle Camonica. Ci troviamo
in Lombardia e precisamente in provincia di Brescia. Il borgo è conosciuto per i laboratori
artigiani di produzione del ferro, le fucine. Durante il periodo della mostra è possibile visitare
le fucine e capire come veniva svolto questo antico mestiere.
Oltre a questo ci sono numerosi altri artisti e artigiani della ceramica, del legno, della pittura
o della scultura. Insomma è davvero un luogo pieno di arte e bellezza.
IL BORGO
It is a medieval village, which evolved due to its strategic location, enclosed within the
pre-Alps. The village was enriched thanks to the numerous activities that were carried out in
the steel sector, which still make the town flourishing today.
Certainly the fulcrum of the village is the Mill Museum which dates back to 1400 and is still
intact with its three floors and millstones. During the Bienno exhibition it is possible to visit it
and understand how it works in full swing.
Another important one is the Iron museum, where precisely you can see how this material
was worked by means of water-powered forges. It is impressive to see, to think also that this
work has always been done by the wise hands of man.
E’ un borgo medievale, che si è evoluto grazie alla sua posizione strategica, racchiuso
all’interno delle prealpi. Il borgo si è arricchito grazie alle numerose attività che venivano
svolte in ambito siderurgico, che ancora oggi rendono il paese fiorente.
Sicuramente fulcro del borgo sono il Museo del Mulino che risale al 1400, è ancora intatto
con i suoi tre piani e macine. Durante la mostra di Bienno è possibile visitarlo e comprendere
il funzionamento in piena attivitĂ .
Altro importante è il museo del Ferro, dove appunto si può vedere come veniva lavorato
questo materiale tramite delle fucine azionate ad acqua. E’ impressionante da vedere,
pensare anche che questo lavoro sia sempre stato fatto dalle sapienti mani dell’uomo.
Then there are numerous stands where it is possible to stop to taste typical local products,
such as their wonderful spongades, small sweet focaccias that can be eaten, according to
tradition, with both jams and cured meats.
Furthermore, many installations have been installed, such as luminous writings that recall
the world of craftsmanship and art.
Ci sono poi numerosi stand in cui è possibile fermarsi per degustare prodotti tipici del
territorio, come per esempio le loro meravigliose spongade, delle piccole focacce dolci che si
possono mangiare, secondo la tradizione, sia con le confetture sia con i salumi.
Inoltre sono state messe moltissime installazioni, come ad esempio scritte luminose che
richiamano il mondo dell'artigianato e dell'arte.
Every year around 200 exhibitors come to Bienno to showcase their art and creativity. I must
say that this year I was very impressed by the beauty of the works and the skill of the artists.
Along the streets there are also musicians, jugglers and acrobats dancing on stilts, all this
makes the place and the market exhibition even more particular and evocative.
Visiting Bienno is experiencing a medieval village for a day, savoring flavors and immersing
yourself in art and craftsmanship. E’ really understand what man is still able to produce with
his own hands, which nowadays, is difficult to see.

Ogni anno sono circa 200 gli espositori che vengono a Bienno per mettere in mostra la
propria arte e creativitĂ . Devo dire che quest'anno sono rimasta molto colpita dalla bellezza
delle opere e dalla bravura degli artisti. Lungo le vie sono presenti poi i musicisti, giocolieri e
acrobati che danzano su trampoli, tutto questo rende ancora piĂą particolare e suggestivo il
luogo e la mostra mercato.
Visitare Bienno è vivere un borgo medievale per un giorno, assaporare sapori e immergersi
nell’arte e artigianato. E’ davvero comprendere cosa l’uomo è ancora in grado di produrre
con le proprie mani, cosa che al giorno d’oggi, è difficile da vedere.
Spero che il post vi sia piaciuto e allora vi aspetto il prossimo anno per vivere insieme
