Season Summary

Well, here we are again, another Splinterlands season in the books. Season 167 is done, and I’ve been around since season 74, so that’s already a lot of battles under my belt.

Now that the Soulbound Rebellion days are almost behind us and everyone is buzzing about the upcoming set, I’m still focused on wrapping up Rebellion. My collection is sitting at 98% complete, only missing two legendaries. Feels good to finally see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Most players are already hoarding Glint for the new set, and honestly, that’s probably the smarter play. The new set will introduce opportunities to grab unbounded cards right out of the gate, which is huge.

The Flip Side

Of course, there’s a downside. Personally, it stings a little. I’ve invested a good amount of SPS and built my deck to the point where I can just about earn enough Glint to max out a set. Rebellion was the first real proof of that, and I’m proud of it.

But with the new structure, Glint costs for draws are going up. We don’t know by how much yet, but it’s coming. And if I’m already barely able to complete a set under the current system, then realistically, I know I won’t be able to do the same with the next one.

From the team’s perspective, I get it. They want the new set to carry instant value, especially with unbounded cards in the mix. It should be harder to obtain. But as a regular foil player, it likely means I’ll have to change my goals. Instead of completing everything, I may just focus on getting the levels I need.

Maybe I can balance this with land production and aim for unbounding score boosts. Part of the charm of Splinterlands is adapting to each new challenge, even if it sometimes feels like the finish line keeps moving further away. You can only push the bar higher so many times before it wears you down, but hey, that’s the grind we signed up for.

HPUD and Badges

Oh, and let’s not forget — this season lined up perfectly with HPUD, so I powered up some Hive for that shiny badge. Always nice to flex a little on-chain achievement. 🤣

Looking Ahead

For the record, I had an absolute blast this season. Frontier is where I spent most of my time, running three accounts, and I’ll keep grinding there while also dipping into Modern. I dropped back to Silver, but that just gives me another reason to aim for the leaderboard again.
