The weekend seemed like a refuge, a place where I'd find solace and comfort and a respite from the turmoil and stormy seas I'd crossed; the howling winds and driving rain would abate and I'd find peace, calm and a moment to make sense of the week behind me. It seemed like it would be that, I wanted it to be that, but it hasn't been; instead, the seas rose, the wind conspired against me and the rain hammered harder cutting through to the bone, or so it seemed.
The week past has has been one of turbulence and tribulations, one I'd like to forget but will not, and a week in which I found, no I rediscovered, the depth of my own resilience and reliance upon the rock in my life, my man; he stands tall, immovable and seemingly unbreakable in times like this and it's from his strength that I often draw my own. Together, nothing seems insurmountable and together we weather the storms.

The week that was.
It was, meaning that it's in the past and today is a new day, tomorrow, the next and the next after that as well.
It is with that thought I began my weekend and though the storm still batters the fragile shores that lay at the fringes of my being, the inner core of me is sturdy and stout held together by my stubbornness to break and the strength drawn from a man who seems made of slabs of granite, so rock solid he is to me; and as the weekend settles upon me I hope the hurricane of life slowly dissipates allowing the fringes of myself, the tattered edges, to gather together and re-knit and to become whole again and ready for whatever onslaught life has to offer next.
Here's another Saturday Selections installment, one of a series of posts in which I share some music I've been listening to. I know you won't like everything I select and that's ok, it's my selection after all.
If you like music and want to share some with the rest of us you're free to do so and maybe you'll even help someone find some music they haven't already discovered. If you wish to use the #saturdayselections tag in the weekend experiences community that's ok too, it's a free space to do as you wish.
