For easy management...Loh #255.

Having a home is something that is very special and personal. There's this gratifying feeling of accomplishment, when someone eventually owns  their own home and settles in. In choosing a home, some people opt for huge enormous houses. They prefer a lot of space in their homes, probably for easy movement, to keep valuable furniture or just for the satisfaction it gives. It's their personal preference. Personally, I don't like huge homes and would not prefer buying one no  matter how cheap it is. I prefer small portable homes that I can effectively manage and care for.  So with this, I can say that I'm on the “buy everything ready and fast team”. When searching for a home to rent, one thing that puts me off is when I observe that a lot of the home needs renovation. That is a total kill joy for me. My mom once fell into this trap. She went to a landlord and suggested to assist him renovate his worn out flat so that our family could move in. They both agreed that whatever she spent on renovations would be converted to the annual rent until her money was fully paid.  My mom went ahead with the renovations thinking that she had struck a good deal but unfortunately, the landlord turned against her when he discovered that the total expenses amounted to eight years of rent. He could not swallow the fact that we wouldn't have to pay rent for eight years straight and so, he increased his rent and finally four years were all my mom got. All her hardwork, time, energy and finances spent on renovations gone just like that. That incident taught me a lesson. I never move into any home that needs renovations. If the landlord cannot renovate it himself before I decide to rent the house, then I have no business dealing with him. My reasons for preferring a small not so beautiful home as compared to a huge and beautiful home is simply because of management. It is not easy to keep the house clean daily, especially for myself as I run a tight and busy  schedule.  I don't like having maids or house help around my home and I won't want them in the future either. I prefer doing my things  with my  family instead. It would encourage family bonding and also build a sense of responsibility in the young ones of my family while also dispelling the “entitlement mentality” from them.  Having a small  home does not equate to a lack of resources. I would truly prefer a portable home with a large garden space for leisure, relaxation and meditation purposes. So if I were to choose between a huge beautiful home that would be needing a lot of renovations but cheap and a small, not so beautiful home not needing renovations but expensive, I'll definitely choose the latter. It saves me  stress and proper  time management. Also, I won't have to  bother myself thinking so much about where some stuff are kept because every inch of my home would have been memorized by me and I'll know just where things are kept.  Plus living in a small home will not allow for cluttering because apparently there would be no space for something excess. ************** Thanks for reading.
