How long can you keep a secret......?

Sometimes, we often make incoherent and unbalanced decisions in life. When asked “”Why”*, the answer is usually along these lines…*”I had no choice”*. But truthfully speaking, we always have a choice no matter the  situation. What makes some people make that wrong decision is because every choice comes with a **consequence** and people usually go for the easy way out rather than the difficult path. One thing we don't always seem to recall is that… >**There is nothing hidden under the sun”*. When wrong choices are made and wrong steps are taken, , the doer of the act might forget about his or her actions later but one day, those past actions come knocking in the future. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRoh7brmU3aKPM3Pcd7QyXf7AJxvsqjeq6Yk2T2GmcKqF/1757164173618.jpg) I heard a story of a young lady  who while in school was dating several different lecturers. She's what you would refer to as a *call girl or a runs girl*. After her university days, she decided to settle down with a good guy who came back from abroad. All was going smoothly, until the day of her introduction (official meeting of both parents). The intending groom came with his family members to meet her family and make their intentions known but they got a shock of their life. *Do you want to know what happened? Okay chill, I'll spill the beans.* It happened that the man's younger brother was also among the family members who came along to see the intending bride. When he saw the bride to be, he exclaimed in shock and disbelief. Then he told his brother that he couldn't marry the lady. After much questioning, he revealed the lady's past private life and he even had some erotic pictures of her back then when she was in school. The older brother and the rest of the family were shocked at how messy her past life was that they called off the wedding. The girl could only cry sadly and pitifully but  nothing could be done. The cat was already out of the bag. That's  how she lost a good man.  According to what I heard, this lady behaved calmly and carried a quiet demeanor about her person, which attracted the intended groom. She was even going to church, covering herself up nicely in her dressing and attending regular programs too. It was a huge shock when that part of her life was revealed to the society. Her parents had to send her to one of her aunt's place in another state to quell the gossip. *”What  point am I trying to make here?”* This post was prompted by another post that I came across on Facebook. The post was about a similar story to the one I shared above and I felt moved to share this because it speaks truth in volumes. No secret lasts that long especially one from a terrible past. Let us be more mindful of our actions because like @luchyl posted some days ago, *we reap what we sow and surprisingly, we reap in many folds*. *Here's a screenshot of the post fromr my Facebook page* ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdaoBDn8cvxF9okRenntDy5Q1xzyGnbJ4UoFVtLtuwWCW/screenshot_20250906_101916.png) ******** Had the lady in my story confessed to her hubby to be about her past before the introduction day, perhaps the wedding would still have taken place because he would have found a way to calm his younger bro against airing her dirty linens. Well, this could be possible if he loves her deeply. But… who knows? Was I sad when I heard that lady's story? Nope, not really. I was only sad because of the consequences she was now reaping but not for her situation precisely. Afterall, she made those choices in her past with her clear mind herself. ********* Thanks for reading.
