Land Rarity Calculations

#### Prologue

In order to get my strategy for Land into the perfect space, I looked at several boosts last week, mainly titles and totems. Those were easy, as they're additional to the existing Land Plot - but Land Plots themselves have rarities, too, and each has their own production boost.

I first thought I could just do the same again, but I did have to change quite a few things in order to make the calculations work on plots.

First was to set a start. Buying a new plot is not the same as putting a booster on an existing plot. Also, when putting booster on boosted land, that would require a whole new calculation. And then there are many, many combinations...

I did not run all of them, just the cheapest one for all three boosts, as that's the most likely and the one that recuperates the investment the fastest.

#### Cost per Bonus

To calculate this, I subtracted the cost of a common plot, which does not have any bonus, from the cost of rare/epic/legendary plots.

This is the table of the prices as they are currently, with or without buildings.

The rest was easy to calculate and that does already look a lot better than the one that I calculated for Totems and Titles.

I wanted to combine the two parts, but the fact that the plots have price differences due to resources made that a little complicated. But as always, I found a way. It's a bit crowded but really does the trick.

It does not compare perfectly, though, as the Rarity does not display the %-boost properly. A common totem is like a rare title or a rare plot. The Epic Plot gives only 40% boost, the Epic Totem 50%. Please take that into consideration.

Anyway, we can see that rare plots are somewhat around the same cost/% as the common totem, which we had identified as the best solution as a boost.

There is a pretty good opportunity in Epic-Wood-Plots at the moment - I actually write this post becaue @goldmatters is selling one of his Epic plots in #50, and I was interested, but wanted to calculate first.

#### Days away

Now that I figured out how to plot all the data together, I got a little crazy. Here's a chart of all the boosts and how long it takes for each resource to break even.

I grouped them by Plots/Totems/Titles, so it's a little easier to see. But still, it's a little bit of a mess there. Here's the one just for land plots:

Of course, there's also some more date to it. Here's the table for the 50k PP Land Plots, how long it takes only to recuperate the money spent on the plot:

Look at the stone plot! 70 days with 50k PP (5x Beta Rare Max/ around 150$) and you have the investment on the plot back. Now, they're cheap at the moment, only $15, so it will take a lot longer to get back the rest of the investment. I should build a calculator for that...

Now, we want to compare to the other bonus productions, so here's the table for the days it takes to recuperate just the part that you pay extra.

That does look pretty good, especially for the rare plots. The epic wood, as mentioned, is quite cheap at the moment, and works back the plot-investment in less than two years.

#### We shall meet again...

When will the extra-investment pay off? Well, it takes a while, just like with totems.

Rare crosses over Common after 3000 days, and gets crossed by Epic after 7200 days. Epic crosses Common at 5600 Days.

Those were the totems, with Legendary crossing Common after 10400 days.

With Land plots, we have a similar picture. Epic crosses Rare after 4400 days. Legendary crosses rare after 8400 days, and Epic after 10500 days.

So, with plots, the investment in Legendary Plots is better than one in Legendary Totems (let's not talk about titles...). Still, it would take over 10 years for a Epic Totem to bring you benefit.

What if you bought a X Plot, a Common Totem and a Rare Title?

Those are the break even days with the 20% bonus extra, and the 75$ extra. The big draw down here is the title.

#### Conclusion

Rare plots are the real deal, just like common totems. My strategy is slowly getting where I want it to be. All those calculations are bringing me more confidence in my ability to take the right approach, and soon, I'll be putting it to the test. You just watch me!

And yes, now I want to build a huge calculator where I can insert my whole plot cost, with DEC staked, card cost, plot cost, totems - so I can run every imaginable scenario and see how long it takes me to get my investment back (given the status quo at the time).
