#### Prologue
This is post number 14 on Land. That's how long it took me to dig into everything I needed to know about Land for Beginners, and calculate every detail that is important for a good strategy. All those posts included a multitude of experiences, trials, errors, and many a mistake in the formula.
But here it is, finally ready, free to use for everyone who is interested in Land and doesn't want to go through the whole process that I did - though I do recommend it, as it leads to a deeper understanding. And we're talking money here, and understanding where you put your money is important. At least to me.
This is a little manual on how to use the calculator, which you can find by clicking on this blue part of the sentence.
ALL VALUES ARE SHOWN IN GERMAN PUNCTUATION! Meaning that the "." separates the thousands, and the "," separates the decimals.
If you find any flaws and errors, please let me know. Thank you!

#### How to use it
Download
Upper left corner, click on "File", then "Download", and then the file type you want. Yours will be in your browser language.
You can also copy it to your own Google Drive in order to manipulate it within the cloud.

#### Step one - Pre-Settings
Right in the first and second line, you find basic settings that you can adapt. I might update this file from time to time, but the fluctuations in prices (baby blue) are quite high, so I recommend checking those and changing, if needed.
The DEC value is within Splinterlands, in the DEC section. For the resource prices, I recommend the BLT, @beaker007 's Land Tool. This link will bring you to the resource page.
Copy the value of each resource into the respective spot in the sheet.

#### Cards
The card section is a little longer to stay with. You have 4 sections, one for each card edition that is viable for land in my opinion. This calculator only works with maxed out cards, that keeps it simpler.
You can pick out how many and which cards you want to stake on your land by putting the amount into the respective rose color field. In this case, I put in the 5 Regular Foil Rare Cards from Beta-Edition. Make sure to look up the price for a maxed card, either in the Ingame-Market, or https://peakmonsters.com/, or https://monstercards.store/ , and add it into the baby blue section.
The calculator automatically gives you the cost in USD, as well as DEC, and the amount of Production Points (PP) that will be. You can move on from here to the next section.

#### Boosts
There are four types of boosts in the beginner's part of Land.
Terrain Preference (always buy the cards that bring you the bonus, depending on the plot you have)
Land Rarity
Totems
Titles
The calculator is set in a way that again, you only have to adjust the market price as well as the amount, which is typically "1" for one plot, which can hold 1 totem and 1 title. You can, of course, calculate for multiple plots as well.
In this case, I used a Rare plot that produces stone, a Rare Totem and a Rare Title. The LSC will give you the cost of each, both in USD and DEC (based on the DEC price you set in square D1), and the bonus.
You don't have to actualize all prices, just the ones that you're thinking of using or simulating.

#### Other costs
One more - the Energy Core. That is one to consider, too. Generally, it's 1, but maybe you already have a few and don't need to buy a new one. But I'd just leave that square with "1", anyway.
The staked DEC that you need is calculated based on the amount of cards you selected. If you only select 4 cards, it will automatically adjust to 4, and hence 40k DEC.
The Terrain Boost is set at 10%, as it's doesn't make much sense to buy cards that don't get that boost.

#### The Results
My favorite section! The first part shows you the data for your chosen set-up. The total cost in USD and DEC, the Total Boost you're workers will be enjoying, based on that the Boosted PP and values like PP per $ and $ per PP. Those help you to compare quickly with other set-ups.
The second part is the important one - the production and net income.
You don't have to add anything here. Just enjoy. The LSC gives you the production per hour based on your boosted PP, and the grain cost calculated from your base PP. Resting the tax, it then goes on to calculate what that would be in DEC, based on the values you but into the respective squares in the first line of the sheet (Pre-Settings). That's your net income.
The 10% to use the trading pool is already included in the values from the BLT, so that's the real net income. From there, it goes on to calculate some DEC values, and in the end the annual ROI.
Meaning:
5 maxed Rare Beta Cards with terrain preference on a Rare Stone Plot with a Rare Totem and a Rare Title will cost you 360$, and give you an annual return on investment of approximately 9.14%.

Conclusion
That's it. Easy, isn't it? If you get a better deal on any of the metrics (I got my rare stone plot for $15), you can adjust those easily and see the aROI for your specific case.
I like this tool a lot, and it helped me to find the right set-up for my budget, to squeeze the maximum out of it. While doing the calculations, I also saw that Stone is almost at Grain Factor 1 - if it goes down any further, it makes more sense to produce and sell grain than Stone!
That would screw up my plans... But that's just it. All those calculations are subjected to the price of resources. And those a bound to the demand, stemming from the utility of said resources. And there's a lot of work being done on land, so hopefully, the utility will just keep rising...
