My co-worker introduced me to this blogging platform but since he is a passive delegator to bots, I had to wander this STEEM blockchain on my own. ALL the support I received thus far are from individuals I’ve met on the blockchain. I likely would have given up ages ago if not for the kindness others shown me while I fumbled around trying to find my identity here (still am really).
Here is my way of giving back.
Will require trust and faith in the STEEM community
Plenty of Community Support Out There!
There are many community efforts out there helping users with SP delegation, pushing Redfishes to become Minnows, Minnows to become Dolphins, etc. Many of these initiatives ask that users post frequently, power up their STEEM, involved in communities, etc.
I for one understand the challenges of posting frequently. As for engaging in communities, well, I’m selective where I want to spend my free time. Being a working professional and parent, the real world will always top my priorities. I’m lucky to find free time to respond to comments or do some light curation.
Reasons why users may not ‘qualify’ for the community support:
-
Everyone’s financial situation is different. Individuals in other parts of the world may have to power down to help with expenses.
-
Not everyone is a blogger. Not everyone will have the polished posts needed to receive support from curation guilds.
-
Some people prefer to use their earning to invest in Steem Monters cards.
-
Being active in Communities is a time commitment. Some users on here are working professionals and parents. The engagement level required to effectively receive community support is unreachable for some.
Here is my proposal, for anyone interested.
It is a small initiative, but let’s see how it turns out? I don’t need the STEEM myself, but perhaps someone will. Everyone’s situation is different.
Everyone will be contributing $20 STEEM to support a community of 20 people.
Without being detrimental to any one individual. • Weekly, every interested party will contribute $1 STEEM (sent to me). • Pot would be $20/STEEM a week. • A name from the list will be randomly selected every week and the person will be the beneficiary of the $20 Steem collected from all members. Your name will be removed once selected. You are still required to contribute $1 Steem a week until the end of the 20-week period! • I will be the last recipient at the 20-week mark.
Purpose?
• Use the STEEM to power up. • Use the STEEM to buy Steem Monsters cards. • Use the STEEM for real life uses. • Help others while still helping yourself.
Qualifications?
Only two really. 1. No matter what you do with the STEEM, you have to WANT to stay on here. Don't give up!
- I have to know you. We don't even have to like each other. As long as I've seen you around! Sorry, that’s a given and here is why. IF anyone decides to default on their $20 STEEM commitment, I will personally add in the funds. I have that amount covered on the exchange.
Requirement:
I'll write a post every Saturday announcing the name randomly selected for that week. Simply send in the $1 STEEM for the next week once you see the post.
Why Should I Trust You?
If you don’t trust me, then we must not know each other. I suggest you find another community support project.
Other Ideas to Come Later
I'm toying around with some other ideas to show my small support to the participants. Haven't fine-tuned those ideas yet. It may involve setting up an account where I'll work with @davemccoy to help my fellow Redfishes and Minnows participate in Steem Monsters if they are interested. I am still behind with game rules, tbh.
All I know is that once the kickstarter package is delivered, I'll have a maxed out regular and gold summoner for gameplay. That has to mean something right?
That’s it. Who is game?
Let's start this Saturday, 10/13. The maximum number of people for this round is 20, but we don't need to reach that quantity to start. If there are only 5 people interested, then the pot will be $5 STEEM and the community project will last 5 weeks 😂.
List will close Friday. Send in 1 STEEM by Friday to be added to the list.
