I am dead beat and I've been running performance tests all day long. The only good thing is that somehow I succeed to keep a positive attitude towards it, even if from 8 AM to 8 PM I was doing ten things at once. But at least I've left a long running performance test which will run over night and that will leave me some free time to get back and check what's happening in the crypto space. I didn't know what to write about and I thought to simply write about my work. With this push and working smart could mean for me a somehow free rest of the week if my boss doesn't throw some other work at me. But after this push, I hope he wouldn't. Tomorrow we analyze the results and publish them to the customers, so if I get over this bump we should be good. But until that happens I still have some reservations about it and prepare myself to jump on any additional tests that might be needed. But I rather hope not...
Don't get me wrong, I like what I do and the colleagues from the Development department they call me "The Blocker". And that's quite deserved as I opened most of the Blocker and Critical Jira Tickets. But on the other hand, even if they had some hard periods, at least we avoid happening these issues in Production. And if we all view things like that, we work as a team. Some might look at me as the black sheep just because of that, but when the Devs were going drinking I was there with them having fun. So I think we all have the right attitude and view on things, thus work hard, play hard. And we quite need such periods where to get any of our frustrations out in the open. Not that we don't have any... but better outside than inside.
I am trying to come up with something more to write down, but my mind simply cannot come up with anything. It is not like I'm burned out, but I am quite tired of all the work that I needed to do and mostly to the fact that I had to do stuff in parallel and pay attention to it. I am glad that I work together with all the departments and we help each other and solve issues in real time and that helped me run some tests that normally would take two or thee days. I hope the boss sees that and it will not bother me for the rest of the week. But never say never, we shall see.
I hope you didn't have a work day as crazy as mine and that you are enjoying a more balanced week. Regardless I can only wish you a great evening and easy rest of the week until the weekend will hit us.
