I have not been in this community since this last post [Tomatera](https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@belkisa758/tomato-plant-in-progress-eng-esp) but today I am back to proudly show the progress of my plants. -------- _{*Gardening requires patience and for that I should be grateful. Calmness, waiting for the process, taking it one step at a time are powerful tools for me. I recognize personal growth just by tending to them in my garden. Every morning, after I finish my exercise routine, I spend at least an hour tending to them, fertilizing them, cleaning them, and talking to them. It's as relaxing as exercising.*} --------  I have prepared the soil in my planter with stones, black soil, compost and compost. As I said before, this has been an interesting and important process, now I get beautiful results: the plants grow quickly, they look strong, their branches, flowers and fruits abound. I have had several types of plants. Tomato has been one of them. Although it has given me good harvest, I am not able to keep the plant long. I decided to plant parchita or passion fruit. I started with the seeds of the fruit. I put them to dry and then placed them in a seedbed. It was not easy to get a sprout, but when it showed signs it gave me a lot of joy. I waited to see it grow a little before transplanting it. I placed it near a dry stick so it would have something to hold on to. Without despairing I began to observe its growth. With the collaboration of my husband we started to create a support for the plant. The fruit of the parchita is heavy, it can break the segments and get damaged. We also helped so that its branches would not spread to any other place than my own backyard. -----------

----------- We are currently dealing with an insect that lives on the parchita plant. A worm called **defoliator worm**. This worm feeds on the parchita leaves to carry out its metamorphosis process until it reaches its last cycle and transforms into a butterfly. I love butterflies and I am happy when I see them in my garden but, unfortunately, I had to use homemade fertilizer. I prepared garlic water with a little soap to scare them away. I try to keep it clean but I tell you that these insects reproduce quickly and sometimes I can't even locate where they are. I see when the butterflies pass over the leaves to lay their eggs, at that moment I act to break the cycle.
