Greetings @visualshots community, I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones. We're already counting down to the children's return to school. During the school holidays, my son and I took several sightseeing tours of the city with the aim of getting to know the squares and emblematic and historical sites of the capital of Sucre state. The city of Cumaná, birthplace of the Grand Marshal of Ayacucho, boasts several squares and buildings with a marked influence of colonial design, such as the San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle and the Minor Basilica of Santa Inés, among others, which bear witness to the colonial past of this eastern city.
Furthermore, its privileged location gives it a beautiful coastline, home to a variety of beaches; along our tour, we visited several plazas, and this time we headed to the monument area, located on the perimeter avenue and the Cumaná-Carúpano national highway. The monument is a recreational space in front of the beach of the same name, making it ideal for family fun and recreation. In addition to its location, it boasts two important allegorical monuments located along this coastline. The first is **the Monk and Indian** monument. According to a resident, this monument is linked to the evangelization of the indigenous tribes who inhabited the Caribbean Sea by the conquistadors and Franciscan missionaries, who indoctrinated the indigenous people into the Catholic faith.

Saludos comunidad @visualshots, deseo que tengan un excelente fin de semana en unión de sus seres queridos, ya estamos en la cuenta regresiva para la vuelta a clase de los niños, durante las vacaciones escolares, en compañía de mi hijo, realizamos varias rutas turísticas por la ciudad con la idea de conocer las plazas y lugares emblemáticos e históricos de la capital del estado Sucre, la ciudad Cumaná, cuna del Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, cuenta con varias plazas, construcciones con una marcada influencia del diseño colonial,
el castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia, la basílica menor santa Inés, entre otras, que dan testimonio del pasado colonial de esta ciudad oriental.
Además, su privilegiada ubicación le asigna una hermosa franja costera, donde se encuentran diferentes playas; en nuestra ruta turística, visitamos varias plazas y en esta oportunidad nos trasladamos al sector el monumento, el cual se ubica en la avenida perimetral y carretera nacional Cumaná – Carúpano, el monumento es un espacio recreativo frente a la playa del mismo nombre, ideal para el esparcimiento y diversión familiar, además de su ubicación, destaca por dos importantes monumentos alegóricos que se encuentran en esta franja costera, el primero de ellos es el monumento el **Monje y el Indio**, según la información de un residente, este monumento está vinculado con la evangelización de las tribus aborígenes, que habitaban en la zona del mar Caribe, por parte de los conquistadores y los misioneros franciscanos que adoctrinaron a los indígenas en la fe católica.

The other monument known as **Cumaná 500 years**, is a series of sculptures, which according to the information provided by a kind gentleman, with whom we spoke during our walk, represents the origin of life, people emerge from a flower, according to what is observed in the sculptures, these sprout from a large tree or trunk and from there life originates, this monument was created to commemorate the 500 years of the founding of the city, in 2015; With the creation of this monument, several elements were added to this sector for the enjoyment of the family, exercise machines were placed and in recent months several courts have been added, this space is very busy in the morning hours where a group of people come to exercise and walk, the evening hours are also very busy, as children and adults come to the place to do sports and recreational activities.
If you are a beach lover and you like to look at the seascape, the monument has a beautiful semicircular viewpoint, from which you can observe the surroundings and enjoy the pleasant breeze. In the company of my son I have visited this place on several occasions, but on our last visit we focused on the sculptures, observing each one of them carefully and paying attention to the details. For our visit we chose the afternoon schedule.
El otro monumento conocido como **Cumaná 500 años**, es una serie de esculturas, que según la información suministrada por un amable señor, con quien conversamos durante nuestro paseo, representa el origen de la vida, las personas emergen de una flor, de acuerdo a lo que se observa en las esculturas, estas brotan de un gran árbol o tronco y de allí se origina la vida, este monumento se creó para conmemorar los 500 años de fundación de la ciudad, el año 2015; con la creación de este monumento, se añadieron a este sector varios elementos para el disfrute de la familia, se colocaron máquinas para hacer ejercicio y en los últimos meses se han añadido varias canchas, este espacio es muy concurrido en horas de la mañana donde un grupo de personas acude para realizar ejercicios y caminatas, el horario vespertino también es muy concurrido, pues niños y adultos acuden al lugar para realizar actividades deportivas y recreativas.
Si eres amante de la playa y te gusta mirar el paisaje marino, el monumento cuenta con un hermoso mirador semicircular, desde el cual puedes observar el entorno y disfrutar la agradable brisa, en compañía de mi hijo he visitado este lugar en varias oportunidades, pero en nuestra última visita nos enfocamos en las esculturas, observamos cada una de ellas con detenimiento y prestando atención a los detalles, para nuestra visita escogimos el horario de la tarde.

I really like the evening hours because I get to enjoy the sunset and watch the beautiful colors of the sky as the sun sets. We visited both sculptures, took pictures, and since it was afternoon, I couldn't miss a photo of the sunset and some views of the perimeter avenue. There, several residential complexes, commercial establishments, as well as hotels and two very striking sculptures converge. One of them is a globe, made of concrete and located in the center of the avenue. There's also a map of Sucre state on a wall. This is also located in the center of the avenue very close to the Minerva hotel. After taking pictures and looking at the sculptures, we sat at the viewpoint for several minutes to observe the immensity of the sea and enjoy the fresh breeze. At this time of the afternoon, crabs usually come out, but we managed to see very few. These little animals are very elusive and camouflage themselves among the rocks. As evening fell, we made a new tour from the viewpoint to the paddle tennis court. From there, we returned to the monument. And at the bus stop to take the bus back home, this evening walk was a lovely experience that allowed us to relax and admire once again the beauty of nature and this space that stands out for its excellent location on the seashore.
Me gusta mucho el horario vespertino, porque tengo la oportunidad de disfrutar el atardecer y observar los hermosos colores del cielo al ocultarse el sol, visitamos ambas esculturas tomamos fotos y como era la hora de la tarde, no podía faltar una foto del ocaso del sol y algunas vistas de la avenida perimetral, allí convergen varios conjuntos residenciales y establecimientos comerciales también hoteles y dos esculturas muy llamativas, una de ellas es un globo terráqueo, elaborado en concreto y ubicado en el centro de la avenida, también hay un mapa del estado Sucre en un muro, este se encuentra también en el centro de la avenida muy cerca del hotel Minerva, luego de tomar las fotos y mirar las esculturas nos sentamos en el mirador durante varios minutos a observar la inmensidad del mar y disfrutar la fresca brisa, a esta hora de la tarde los cangrejos suelen salir y logramos ver muy pocos, estos animalitos son muy escurridizos y se camuflan entre las rocas, al caer la tarde hicimos un nuevo recorrido desde el mirador hasta la cancha de pádel, desde allí nos devolvimos al monumento y a la parada para tomar el autobús de vuelta a casa, este paseo vespertino fue una linda experiencia, que nos permitió relajarnos y admirar una vez más la belleza de la naturaleza y este espacio que resalta por su excelente ubicación a la orilla del mar.
