1 Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good, because his love is eternal. 2 Say what the Lord has saved, those who saved from the power of the enemy, 3 the ones he collected from among the countries from the north and the south, of the east and the west. 4 They were lost in the sandy desert, without finding the way to a city where to live; 5 they were hungry and thirsty, They were about to die! 6 But in their anguish they cried out to the Lord, and he delivered them from affliction. 7 Then he put them on the right path to a city where to live. 8 Thank the Lord for his love,     For what he does for men! 9 For he quenches the thirst of the thirsty     and gives abundant food to the hungry. 10 They lived in deep darkness, prisoners of sadness and chains, 11 for rebelling against the Lord's orders, for despising the plans of the Most High. 12 God subjected them to hard work; they stumbled, and nobody helped them. 13 But in their anguish they cried out to the Lord, and he saved them from affliction; 14 brought them out of the deep darkness and delivered them from the chains. 15 Thank the Lord for his love,     For what he does for men! 16 He shattered bronze doors!     He smashed iron bars! 17 Sick and afflicted for their own evil and sins, 18 could not stand any food; They were already at death's door! 19 But in their anguish they cried out to the Lord, and he saved them from affliction; 20 He sent his word and healed them; He delivered them from the grave! 21 Thank the Lord for his love,     For what he does for men! 22 Offer gratitude sacrifices     and speak with joy of their actions. 23 The merchants went to sea. They crossed the waters with their boats, 24 and there, on the high seas, they saw the wonderful creation of the Lord. 25 A storm broke out in the voice of the Lord that raised great waves; 26 were thrown up to heaven and sunk to the bottom of the sea; They lost courage in the face of danger! 27 They staggered like drunks; Their expertise was useless! 28 But in their anguish they cried out to the Lord, and he brought them out of affliction; 29 the tempest turned into a breeze, and the waves calmed down. 30 When the waves were calm, they rejoiced, and God took them to the desired port. 31 Thank the Lord for his love,     For what he does for men! 32 Acclaim it when the town comes together!     Praise him in the meeting of the elders! 33 The Lord converts rivers and springs in deserts and dry lands; 34 turns fertile lands into nitrates, for the evil of its inhabitants; 35 turns deserts into lagoons and dry lands in springs; 36 there he establishes those who are hungry, and they build their cities. 37 Sow fields, plant vineyards and they gather abundant harvests. 38 He blesses them, makes them increase and that the number of their cattle grows. 39 And if they die and their number decreases because of oppression, of misfortune and pain, 40 God despises the oppressors and makes them lose themselves in deserts without a path. 41 He brings the poor out of their sadness; He grows his families like flocks! 42 Seeing this, honest men rejoice, and the wicked close their mouths. 43 He who is intelligent, You must keep this in mind and understand the love of the Lord.
