This isn't the first batch of copper that I have picked up... speaking of which, I think I still have those in the photo archive ready to post from several years ago!
Sure, copper isn't quite a glamourous as silver or gold... but I still love copper coins! There is still something eye-catching about the colour and the designs still look great on them.
So, the usual spot for picking up my precious metal pieces at the moment... old collections being sold off through the deceased estate and bankruptcy auctions. And this was the only batch that I won in the recent weekly round of auctions... most of the silver and gold are going for way more than I want to pay, and at those prices unless there is something really unusual and interesting, I would rather wait until I can visit the coin and bullion shop and take my pick of the buyback stuff.
All of these ten copper pieces came in its own capsule, I probably paid a bit over spot on these... but I couldn't resist getting some copper. For some reason, it is harder to get hold of these... the coin and bullion shop doesn't bother stocking copper, and I don't see it pop up on the auction site very much. My only gripe about it is the fact that all of them have the same Liberty design... I would have been much more keen to get 10 different designs!
... but can't be greedy about that! Still happy with the nice weighty bag of the copper stuff!
