This is what you will call a love letter to the last coffee at the favorite coffee place

It starts like the things that you do not will work. Then you get used to the idea of going there. It is not still a habit, but you are getting there. Next time, you find yourself exchanging some extra words with the clerks.
Then you start trying some extra things. Cold desserts, hot meals, pastries, bread, all that there is to have at the place. Once you get a Mochaccino and everyone is looking at your fancy cup filled to the brim with coffee. The bast part? You saw when they put the chocolate pieces in the cup and threw the hot milk to make it melt. So it is indeed a nice coffee with chocolate. Of course, this is a special treat from time to time. It is sweet but palatable.
Next come the reunions to check on the good friends and old friends. And coffee cannot miss this meetings. It is the best kind of beverage to grease social interaction. Cups go by and you get used to having that spot as the usual cafe. It is not because it is usual a nice spot. It is also cheaper than other options. You have tried coffee at other venues and it is not as good in quality and its prices is twice or thrice the fare you are used to pay.
Then come the dates. They get moved around. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Every day the same quality of coffee. The desserts are usually good. They savory breads are better. But time spent there is the best regarding of what the next activity to come is. It does not matter if it means going to another place or just grabbing a coffee. The warmth of the place is amazing. And you become a regular. So the usual order is known by all the baristas. The coffee comes at the right time and temperature. It is just a matter of enjoying the time and the sips.
And when the news of the place closing came, it was a devastating blow. It is not just the coffee. It is the experience of going there. Knowing some of the clerks. Having my black coffee as I like it. Then spending time sitting next to my girlfriend. Maybe there will be another cafe in the city for us, but that is just wishful thinking.
This my goodbye to the place that had coffee figured out for me. It was nice while it lasted. There will be more coffee in my future. Maybe at a venue or just at my house. But @lapanetteria will not be it anymore.
