Hello there, Hivers!
My morning walks always get better when I see the dogs that stroll around the neighborhood. But there is one that I do not see our of its house so often. It is the The Old One. This golden retriever is a beauty. The dog is big, friendly and really old. I have not seen many old dogs of the kind. However this one is such a handsome gentledog that I greet him any time I come by its house.
The dog gets near the bars of the front wall. It stays there panting. Maybe it waits for someone to give him some pets. Maybe some people used to give him treats back in the day. A friend of mine told me she used to pet this dog almost every day when it was younger. This makes me think that this behavior of snooping through the bars is something that was reinforced early on.
Somedays, I see his owner getting the dog out for it to answer the call of nature. These are the only times I have actually sized the dog. It is quite big and furry. But during those times I cannot take photos of it. The dog is busy and I do not want to interrupt anything.
Some of the best mental images I have of him are just watching the dog laying down on the front lawn doing nothing. I wish I could spend my days doing nothing as an old dog. It would be bliss.
