Hello there, Blockchain Foodies!
Who does not love tequeños? These sticks are some of the favorite snacks of Venezuelans and are also the entry gate to many other foods of our cuisine. Tequeños are some of the easiest things to make and their simplciity does not translate to being a dull food.
There are plenty of recipes to make your own. However, most of us just get them from people who have spent years making snacks for parties and other social events.
The idea is simple. It is a piece of cheese that is covered with dough. The dough needs to wrapped in a pattern and sealed at the borders to prevent the cheese from slipping out of the tequeño. That is one of the trademarks of a good tequeño.
During my stay at Nathalia's place, I was treated to some tequeños made by a friend of hers. Some were simple cheese tequeños, but some of them also had plantain inside. The combination of sweet and salty is delicious. And nowadays there are even sweet tequeños.
Anyways, Nathi could not let the tequeños go without any other thing so she put her skills to work to make a dip for the tequeños. It was something amazing. The ingredients are a secret, I also help her with some mortar and pestle.
Have you had any tequeños recently?
