Food is any substance that is consumed by human or animals to be able to stay alive and survive. There are different types of food which include vegetables, fruits, evaporated milk, clean water and proteins. When we talk about food they are things that we consume through our mouth and whatever we put in our body has a positive or negative effects that it impacts in us.
What is food safety? Food safety simply means the procedures that are being followed to ensure that food is safe to be eaten or to be consumed by the consumers. Some of the basic things that we need to do to ensure food safety are washing of our hands properly before we handle food, proper washing of food produce like fruits, vegetables, meat ,storage of food should be handled carefully perishable food should be stored up in the refrigerator.
Proper cooking of food a lot of foods can be eaten raw while some have to be cooked properly before being consumed like pork meat, yam, rice, plantain and so many others that are not mentioned here are to be cooked very well if not they would not digest well in the body and will cause harm to us. Some bacteria strive in food, pork meat most especially is said to have worms because pigs eat a lot of dirty things and it is always advised to cook the meat not just any meat especially pork meat should be cooked very well before eating it to be able to kill any organism or anything that might be inside it I will cause harm to the body.
Our personal hygiene matters towards food while you are cooking you are supposed to cover your hair I wouldn't say wear hand gloves at least wash your hands and running water and also cover food after preparation do not let flies perch on our food before consumption to reduce the risk of contamination .We should also use good sets of pots to cook as there are some pots that are used in cooking that pose danger to the food and to the consumer too.
