Hello, everyone on the internet! How are you? I'm Bethyjade, and today I'm going to talk to you about the second book in my favorite series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This is one of the most important books in the entire saga and is closely related to the sixth, The Half-Blood Prince, because there is a lot of information about Voldemort's past (The villain of the story) It all begins when Harry and his friend Ronald Weasley have a hard time entering Hogwarts because the barrier that separates platforms 9 and 10 and that gives access to 9 and 3/4 is blocked, however when they finally enter Hogwarts and as the school year progresses a series of petrifications begin to occur to students of muggle origin (not magical) and the rumor begins to spread (which turned out to be true) that Salazar Slythering (founder of the Slytherin house) had built a secret chamber where he hid a monster with which he intended to "purify" the school of students of muggle origin, on the other hand Harry discovers a new ability, he can speak Parseltongue, the language of snakes, which brings him many problems because everyone begins to associate him with Salazar Slytherin and even Voldemort himself. >¡Hola Hola gente de internet! ¿Cómo están? Yo soy Bethyjade y hoy voy a hablarles del segundo libro de mi saga favorita, Harry Potter y La Cámara e los Secretos. Este es uno de los libros más importantes de toda la saga y tiene muchísima relación con el sexto, El Príncipe Mestizo, debido a que hay mucha información sobre el pasado de Voldemort (El Villano de la historia) Todo comienza cuando a Harry y a su amigo Ronald Weasley les cuesta ingresar a Hogwarts ya que la barrera que separa los andenes 9 y 10 y que da acceso al 9 y 3/4 está bloqueada, sin embargo cuando finalmente ingresan a Hogwarts y a medida que va avanzando el año escolar comienzan a suceder una serie de petrificaciones a estudiantes de origen muggle (no mágico) y se comienza a esparcir el rumor (que resultó ser cierto) de que Salazar Slythering (fundador de la casa Slytherin) había construido una cámara secreta donde ocultaba un monstruo con el que pretendía "purificar" la escuela de los alumnos de origen muggle, por otra parte Harry descubre una nueva habilidad, puede hablar pársel, la lengua de las serpientes, lo cuál le trae muchos problemas porque todos comienzan a asociarlo con Salazar Slytherin y hasta con el propio Voldemort.
I love this book, here new characters are incorporated like Dobby, the House Elf, Mr. Weasley or Lucius Malfoy (Draco Malfoy's father) and in the same way we also get to know new elements that make up the magical world, like the Red Flue, which works as a transport system through chimneys, but one of the things that I loved most about this book is that Harry for the first time can experience the warmth of a family, since on this occasion, although in a hurry, he arrives at the home of the Weasley family who receives him with great affection, but in addition to this wonderful welcome, Harry and we as readers along with him, have the opportunity to discover what an authentic wizarding home is like, what their daily routine is like, since until now Harry had only been in a Muggle house (in Private Drives) or at Hogwarts, a school environment.
Me encanta este libro, aquí se incorporan nuevos personajes como Dobby, el Elfo doméstico, El señor Weasley o Lucius Malfoy (Padre de Draco Malfoy) y de la misma forma también conocemos nuevos elementos que conforman el mundo mágico, como la Red Flue, que funciona como sistema de transporte a través de chimeneas, pero una de las cosas que más amé de este libro es que Harry por primera vez puede experimentar la calidez de una familia, ya que en esta ocasión, aunque de manera precipitada llega a casa de la familia Weasley quien lo recibe con mucho afecto, pero además de este maravilloso recibimiento, Harry y nosotros como lectores junto con él, tenemos la oportunidad de descubrir como es una autentica vivienda de magos, cuál es su rutina día a día, ya que hasta ahora Harry solo había estado en una casa de muggles (en Private Drives) o en Hogwarts, un ambiente escolar.
From this book my favorite character is Mr. Weasley, with his outgoing yet kind and noble personality, with that almost childish excitement when he tries to discover and learn more about the Muggle world. By the way, there is a scene that I would have liked Rowling to have emphasized more, and it is the one where Mr. Weasley meets Mr. and Mrs. Granger (Hermione's parents) at Flourish and Blotts (the bookstore) and he was amazed at a 20 pound note that Mr. Granger was showing him. I don't know, I would have liked to read more about this, maybe see the Grangers visiting the Weasleys at some point, but the most exciting thing about the Flourish and Blotts scene was definitely the wandless battle that broke out between Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy, with fisticuffs like Muggles 😄 It's a shame they omitted this from the film because in the book it was an epic encounter.
De este libro mi personaje favorito es el señor Weasley con su personalidad extrovertida pero bondadosa y noble, con esa emoción casi pueril cuando intenta descubrir y conocer más datos sobre el mundo muggle. Por cierto que hay una escena sobre la que me hubiese gustado que Rowling hubiese hecho más énfasis, y es esa donde el señor Weasley conoce a los señores Granger (los padres de Hermione) en Flourish y Blotts (la tienda de libros) y él estaba asombrado ante un billete de 20 libras que el señor Granger le mostraba. No sé, me hubiese gustado leer más sobre esto, tal vez, ver a los Granger visitando a los Weasley en algún punto, pero lo más emocionante de la escena de Flourish y Blotts fue definitivamente la batalla campal que se armó entre Arthur Weasley y Lucius Malfoy, sin varita, a puñetazos como los muggles 😄 es una pena que hayan omitido esto en la película porque en el libro fue un encuentro épico.
Tom Riddle's diary is a key piece in this story, and as I told you at the beginning of this review, it has a lot to do with the events of the sixth book in the saga, The Half-Blood Prince, but one of the most important things about this book is that Harry discovers that the magical world is not far from the muggle world in every way, since there are also differences between social classes, discrimination due to ethnic origin and especially an excessive hatred towards what is considered foreign and even inferior, in this case the muggle world and everything that has to do with it, something that immediately makes us think of Vernon Dursley (Harry's uncle) who feels the same but in reverse, he hates magic and everything that has to do with it.
El diario de Tom Riddle es una pieza clave en esta historia, y tal como les dije al inicio de esta reseña, tiene muchísimo que ver con los eventos del sexto libro de la saga, El Príncipe Mestizo, pero una de las cosas más importantes de este libro es que Harry descubre que el mundo mágico no dista mucho del muggle en todos los sentidos, ya que igualmente existen diferencias entre clases sociales, discriminación debido al origen étnico y en especial un odio desmedido hacia lo que se considera ajeno y hasta inferior, en este caso el mundo muggles y todo lo que tiene que ver con él, algo que inmediatamente nos hace pensar en Vernon Dursley (el tío de Harry) quién siente lo mismo pero a la inversa, detesta la magia y todo lo que tiene que ver con ella.
But another important point that J.K Rowling deals with in this novel is slavery and injustice through the House-elves, something that she delves into in the fourth book (The Goblet of Fire) but in this book we witness how Dobby and all the House-elves in general are brutally subjected to forced labor, even though they are even superior to their masters in terms of magic, because they do not even require the use of magic wands to perform complex spells, but they are subjected to years of abuse and a deep-rooted feeling of loyalty, however at the same time Dobby is an example of courage, resistance and resilience, with a free and indomitable spirit and a noble heart 😍
Pero otro punto importante que J.K Rowling trata en esta novela es la esclavitud y la injusticia a través de los Elfos domésticos, algo en lo cuál ella profundiza en el cuarto libro (El Cáliz de Fuego) pero en este libro somos testigos de como Dobby y todos los elfos domésticos en general son sometidos brutalmente a trabajos forzados, aún y cuando incluso son superiores a sus amos en cuanto a magia se refiere, porque ni siquiera requieren del uso de varitas mágicas para realizar hechizos complejos, pero están sometidos por años de maltrato y por un sentimiento de lealtad muy arraigado, sin embargo al mismo tiempo Dobby es un ejemplo de valentía, resistencia y resiliencia, con un espíritu libre e indómito y un corazón noble 😍
