Although I still have some very special paintings from my StreetArt Tour in Townsville a couple of weeks ago I want to show you one I´ve found a few kilometers further north in the City of Cairns.
Since we rented a campervan in Cairns we needed to find a car park for 3 weeks where our car is safe and that did not cost a fortune. Right at that car park there was this massive mural from the artist Claire Foxton. She mainly does portraits and this one is absolutely brilliant.
What I like most at this mindblowing painting is the fact how she works with colours. I have no idea how she came up with this style of colouring but I really like it and most of her portraits look like this.
The woman on the mural is Henrietta Marrie. Henrietta is an Aboriginal elder, community leader and activist from the Gimuy Walubara Yindinji tribe of Cairns.
Even from a few steps further away this thing still looks huge and with the car in front its even better to understand the dimensions.
