Alright, another week another beautiful and colourful wall from me. I haven´t seen as much streetart as on my recent roadtrip along the australian east coast up till cairns and this is where I´ve found the following piece of art.
That huge mural that covers the whole wall of a big parking area was created by the dutch artist Amok Island who was born in Amsterdam. He´s now living in Fremantle, Perth where he makes grey wall more beautiful.
Heavily inspired by early naturalists’ scientific illustrations, his work embodies the accuracy and precision representative of technical drawings, used for identification purposes.
I really like his style and even tough it looks like its not really hard to paint I guess it wasn´t an easy one. As I went back a few steps I just realised how big it is compared to the cars and how hard it has to be to not lose overview.
Furthermore this awesome piece was painted as part of the Sea Walls that is a groundbreaking ARTivism program that brings the message of ocean conservation into streets around the world.
I do hope you like it as well and leave a comment.
