TGISaturday Weekend Joy: Another Chance to be Happy and Grateful

Good day and Happy Tuesday to all awesome Hive friends! This is my first time posting about my weekend happening. I am happy to share about what took place on Saturday with my partner. It was just a typical day for us but I was excited to attend an event later that day.

In the morning, my partner went to his sister’s house to discuss about some concerns in their family. While he was there, I was also preparing the chocolate cake slices that my friend wanted to try.

Before going back home, he stopped by at a local food shop to buy this traditional breakfast food and also eaten as snacks which is called “steamed sticky rice” with coconut milk wrapped in banana leaves, and dipped in a little Muscovado sugar. We had this for breakfast paired with hot chocolate. Filipinos love eating local delicacies like this that are also traditionally eaten with hot beverage. We then had some star apple that my partner picked when he went to his hometown; we love its sweet and juicy taste.

After lunch, we hurriedly went to the hotel where the event was held at one of their function rooms. This event is called WOFEX (World Food Expo). We already registered online so we just went to the counter to get our name tag sticker.

I would like to share some of the sample products that were on display. We had fun walking around and checking the different booths and most of fall, getting to try their food coz they also offered samples free tasting.

My partner enjoying their offering: mainly beverage syrups.
I joined him in tasting, couldn’t resist the offer Lol

We noticed that they were ready with their products for free taste but when a group of participants came, those items were gone quickly.

The booth staff were also accommodating and very informative.

We enjoyed going around and looking at their display that we didn’t noticed we hadn’t sat for almost two hours. At that moment, my partner didn’t seem to mind either.

They also showcased kitchen equipment and kitchen tools for home or business use.

Attending events like this is enjoyable for me. The atmosphere is lively and even if it’s an indoor event, it provided me a chance to be away from the usual ordinary routine. Being in a different environment, talking to the booth staffs, and watching the booth representatives prepare their samples was a welcomed distraction for me.

After more than two hours of roaming around the events place, my partner wanted to go. We thought of having dinner first before going home. Nearby the events place, there is an open food court named Sugbo Mercado (city name is Cebu = Cebu Market) with numerous food stalls. I didn’t realize that it was weekend, and the place was filled with many customers.

We ordered our food from this stall (Manok Bisaya) roughly translated as "Traditional Chicken" that offered grilled dishes. So, we had grilled tuna belly and grilled pork belly for dinner, not chicken though. It was a hearty meal for us and the price was reasonable. We enjoyed the tuna more than the pork. I wanted to stay longer so we could take a walk nearby the open food court but my partner wanted to go home as he was still planning to do something important that evening.

But before reaching home, he offered to stop somewhere at a small café so, of course, I gladly complied as I also wanted to try their waffle with biscoff and cream. We just shared this one and happily ate it while talking about what happened during our visit to the Expo.

It was a day filled with some of our usual routine but the highlight of that day for us was attending the event. I was thankful for the opportunity to be there and to enjoy the weekend moment. Thankfully, the venue of the event wasn’t far so we could go there conveniently too.

Thank you for your time and checking this post. I hope we all have a fine and a stress-free Tuesday. Many thanks to @galenkp for this weekend experiences initiative. Take Care!
