Weekend-Engagement Week 259: "What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality” by Plutarch (Become the Change You Wish to See)

Amazing day to all of us! I hope your day is going well. I am participating again in this #weekend-engagement sharing with another set of thought-provoking topics.

For today’s sharing, I have chosen to share my interpretation of a quote by Plutarch, an ancient Greek philosopher and historian, "What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality.” For me, this quote is a meaningful one and can be applied as a guide in our daily living. Our thoughts are powerful; it helps us shape who we are, affects our thinking patterns, and how we face or deal with the external challenges.

Before dealing with the world effectively, I think that we first need to deal and overcome our inner struggles, our inner demons – the negative thoughts and beliefs that limit us from achieving our true potential. Our internal conflicts need to be resolved first so that we can have a more meaningful interaction with others then hopefully this will transcend to having genuine relationships with individuals and the society in general.

Through self-reflection and self-correction, we can hopefully achieve self-growth. By transforming our inner selves for the better, our words and actions can influence others and in turn, they will create a similar positive influence to others, thus, we are able to change or redirect the external world that we are dealing with.

In my own ways, how can I achieve inner transformation?

💚 By having self-reflection: Through this, I can identify which behavior or trait I should work on. I think this can also help me improve my decision-making. As a result, I become more aware of myself, my choices, and my response towards external factors.

💚 By managing my emotions: Some emotional responses should be avoided depending on the situation (I admit I need to work on this because I have an impulsive tendency). If I’m able to control my emotional reactions to different circumstances then I can also manage my stress and avoid further conflict.

💚 By learning continuously: I need this because the world is constantly evolving. I need to adapt to the changes around me. If I do so, I am hopefully able to navigate this complex world more effectively.

💚 By practicing positivity: For me, this is like a personal coping mechanism because at times, I have the tendency to cater negative thoughts. I have observed that when I practice positivity, I can avoid overthinking and lessen anxieties as a result. When I exhibit positive energy, I and the people around me can interact or communicate with each other in a pleasant way and work together harmoniously.

If we strive for self-improvement accompanied with good intentions, then we are able to uplift each other, create more meaningful interactions, and bring more optimistic views. In turn, this can lead to a more enduring transformation in our personal lives and most especially to our community and the world as a whole.

Thank you for sharing your precious time and heartfelt gratitude to @galenkp for hosting #weekend-engagement challenge. Take Care and may all of us have a wonderful weekend!
