These past two weeks have been birthdays, first my husband’s 50th birthday on June 25th and then my daughter’s 13th birthday on June 30th. Last week in the #TBT I remembered how 10 years ago was the celebration of my husband’s 40th birthday in a nice posada on the beach and this week looking for pictures to make a video for my daughter where you can see her evolution and growth, I found the ones I am going to share today that are from the first celebration of her birthday.
This celebration was not the first birthday because with the experience of our first child we realized that one year old babies do not enjoy the party so we only gave her a doll and we had a cake between us in the house. But the following year when she turned two years old we did have a celebration in which we invited some family members who traveled from Táchira, Valencia and Caracas, because here in Aragua I have no family.

***Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog***
Estas dos semanas han sido de cumpleaños, primero los 50 años de mi esposo el 25 de junio y luego los 13 de mi hija el 30 de junio. La semana pasada en el #TBT recordé como hace 10 años fue la celebración de los 40 años de mi esposo en una rica posada en la playa y está semana buscando fotos para hacerle un video a mi hija donde se viera su evolución y crecimiento, me encontré las que hoy voy a compartir que son de la primera celebración de su cumpleaños.
Está celebración no fue del primer añito pues ya con la experiencia de nuestro primer hijo nos dimos cuenta que los bebés de un año no disfrutan mucho de la fiesta así que ella solo le regalamos una muñeca y picamos una torta entre nosotros en la casa. Pero al año siguientes cuando cumplió los dos años si hicimos una celebración en la que invitamos algunos familiares que viajaron desde el Táchira, Valencia y Caracas, pues aquí en Aragua no tengo familia.
In the year 2012 exactly when Andrea was born, Disney released the animated series “Princesita Sofia” which became the favorite of all the girls of the time and of the moms who celebrated the birthdays of the girls with the theme of the animated series. Well, we were no exception as Andrea’s 2nd birthday was Princess Sofia. Her godfather gave her a beautiful and delicious cake, it was a very big, moist cake that I will always remember because it was so delicious. She had a piñata that she did not want to hit and was helped by the godfather, we also rented an inflatable for the children of which I did not find a picture but it was big with a dragon on the front.
The celebration was in the backyard of the mother-in-law’s house and we gave out hot dogs for the children and rice and chicken that my sister-in-law prepared for the adults. As in those years I feel the situation was different we even had enough money to buy a few cases of beer to share with the family.
En el año 2012 exactamente cuando nació Andrea, Disney estreno la serie animada “Princesita Sofía” que se convirtió en la favorita de todas las niñas de la época y de las mamás que celebramos los cumpleaños de las niñas con el tema de la serie animada. Bueno, nosotros no fuimos la excepción pues el cumpleaños 2 de Andrea fue de la Princesita Sofía. Su padrino le regaló una hermosa y deliciosa torta, grandísima, era una torta húmeda que siempre voy a recordar porque estaba muy rica. Tuvo una piñata a la que no le quiso pegar y fue ayudada por el padrino, también alquilamos un inflable para los niños del cual no encontré fotografía pero era grande con un dragón en el frente.
La celebración fue en el patio de la casa de la suegra y repartimos perros calientes para los niños y arroz con pollo que preparó mi cuñada para los adultos. Cómo en aquellos años siento que la situación era diferentes nos alcanzó hasta para comprar algunas cajas de cerveza para compartir con la familia.
The guests were only family, but as I said my family had to travel, my mom came from the Andes and my brother from Caracas with his wife and children, also my mom’s brothers who live in Valencia and several cousins with their families. The truth is we had a big party, I think it was the last party we did, from then on all the birthdays have been celebrations in water parks or going out to eat in a restaurant, until this year when he wanted to celebrate going to the movies with friends and then we came home to sing birthday with his favorite cake of three milks.
An anecdote this year is that the girls came home from the movies and started playing music on the TV and one of the videos they played was the one of Little Princess Sofia and they sang the theme song loudly as they shared with me that they all at some point had a birthday party with the theme of Little Princess Sofia.
Los invitados fueron solo de la familia, pero como dije de mi familia tuvieron que viajar, mi mamá vino de los andes y mi hermano de Caracas con su esposa e hijos, también los hermanos de mi mamá que viven en Valencia y varios primos con sus familias. La verdad hicimos una fiesta grande, creo que fue la última fiesta que hicimos, de ahí en adelante todos los cumpleaños han sido celebraciones en parques acuáticos o salidas a comer en un restaurante, hasta este año en el que quiso celebrar yendo al cine con los amigos y luego vinimos a casa a cantar cumpleaños con su torta preferida de tres leches.
Una anécdota de este año es que las niñas llegaron del cine y empezaron a colocar música en el televisor y una de los videos que colocaron fue el de la Princesita Sofía y cantaron la canción principal a gritos pues compartieron conmigo que todas en algún momento tuvieron una fiesta de cumpleaños con el tema de la Princesita Sofía.
