Hello mothers and fathers of Motherhood, First I want to share with you a personal experience, when I was a teenager I had the opportunity to do a hairdressing course, it was only on Saturdays and a very good friend was doing it; but at that time it seemed unnecessary because I did not want to be a hairdresser and I was not excited, now with a son and a husband, I would like to at least have the basic knowledge to shave them and I regret not having done the Saturday course, so at this time I think that everything we learn does not hinder, because you never know when we will need that knowledge and that’s what we want as parents to pass on to our children.
Some time ago Andres began to show interest in barbering and to practice with himself in the bathroom with a small razor that my husband bought some time ago (that’s why I say that I would like to know the basics), then he did it with a friend and a cousin who dared to put his head to cut their hair and although he had no experience they were relatively well, so I told my husband and told him my experience as a teenager, that I would like Andres to learn and more because he likes it. So I talked to Andres to ask his barber when he was going to give a course for him to do it and that made him very excited.
Hola madres y padres de Motherhood, Primero quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia personal, cuando era adolescente tuve la oportunidad de hacer un curso de peluquería, era solo los sábados y una muy buena amiga lo estaba haciendo; pero para aquel momento me pareció innecesario porque yo no quería ser peluquera y no me entusiasmaba, ahora con un hijo y un marido, me gustaría al menos tener los conocimientos básicos para afeitarlos y me arrepiento de no haber hecho el curso sabatino, por lo que en este momento pienso que todo lo que aprendamos no hace estorbo, porque nunca se sabe cuándo vamos a necesitar esos conocimientos y eso es lo que queremos como padres transmitirles a nuestros hijos.
Hace algún tiempo Andrés empezó a mostrar interés por la barbería y a practicar con el mismo en el baño con una pequeña máquina de afeitar que mi esposo compro hace tiempo (por eso digo que me gustaría saber lo básico), luego lo hizo con un amigo y con un primo que se atrevieron a ponerle la cabeza para que les cortara el cabello y aunque no tenía nada de experiencia quedaron relativamente bien, por lo que le comenté a mi esposo y le conté mi experiencia de adolescentes, que me gustaría que Andrés aprendiera y más porque le gusta. Así que hablé con Andrés para que le preguntara a su barbero cuando iba a dictar un curso para que lo hiciera y eso lo entusiasmó muchísimo.
After the teacher arranged other participants and the schedule so that everyone was available, they began an intensive week with the basic fundamentals of barbering, that week they worked in the afternoons from 1 to 5 pm and had the opportunity to put into practice everything they were learning by taking two volunteers, the first one that Andres shaved was his dad who was anxious to see what his son was learning. It was two days he had to go, the first time to go through the machine with brushes 1 and 2 (I think that’s what they are called) and the next day going through the zero. My husband said that Andres looked very confident and there was little that the teacher corrected him although he did give him suggestions as well as commented that he had seen many videos on the internet.
Jose (my husband) was very happy with the haircut Andres gave him, he is already planning to buy the implements (razors, scissors and others) to shave him every 15 days. The last day Andres took his friend, whom he had already shaved, because if he had been shaved by him before, now that he is doing the course it was more likely that he would accept. I don’t have photos of that process because I didn’t get them, but he was also satisfied because at night he sent him a WhatsApp audio telling him that the cut was good, it must be that when he got home that’s what he was told.
Luego de que el profesor cuadró otros participantes y el horario para que todos estuvieran disponibles, empezaron una semana intensiva con los fundamentos básicos de la barbería, esa semana trabajaron en las tardes desde la 1 hasta las 5 pm y tuvieron la oportunidad de poner en practica todo lo que estaban aprendiendo llevando a dos voluntarios, el primero que Andrés afeitó fue a su papá que estaba ansioso por ver lo que su hijo estaba aprendiendo. Fueron dos días que tuvo que ir, la primera vez para pasar la máquina con los cepillos 1 y 2 (creo que así se llaman) y al día siguiente pasando la cero. Mi esposo dijo que Andrés se veía muy seguro y fue poco lo que el profesor le corrigió aunque si le dio sugerencias así como también le comentó que se veía que había visto muchos vídeos en internet.
José (mi esposo) llegó muy conforme con el corte de cabello que le hizo Andrés, ya está planificando comprar los implementos (máquinas de afeitar, tijeras y otros) para que lo afeite cada 15 días. El último día Andrés llevó a su amigo, a quien ya había afeitado, pues si se había dejado afeitar por él antes, ahora que está haciendo el curso era más factible que aceptara. Fotos de ese proceso no tengo por qué no me pasaron pero también quedó conforme pues en la noche le mandó un audio de WhatsApp diciéndole que le había quedado bien el corte, debe ser que cuando llegó a su casa eso fue lo que le dijeron.
Yesterday, Andres was summoned by the teacher for the delivery of the certificates, he told them to wear black, although one of the classmates came dressed in gray 🤭. He gave them a little motivational talk as the course also included a talk on vision and entrepreneurship for those who wish to dedicate themselves to barbering and he gave them the certificates and they took some pictures.
The future is uncertain, we only want our children to be prepared for life, if at some point Andres wants to dedicate himself to barbering it is a decent job and the important thing is that he likes what he does and for the moment that is what he likes, maybe later he will be interested in another but he will have acquired knowledge about this trade, for now he wants to do another more advanced course but the teacher has not yet squared it well, possibly in the coming months and we will support him if he wants to continue learning.
Ayer, Andrés fue citado por el profesor para la entrega de los certificados, les dijo que fueran vestidos de negro, aunque uno de los compañeros llegó vestido de gris 🤭. Les dio una pequeña charla de motivación pues el curso también incluía una charla de visión y emprendimiento para los que deseen dedicarse a la barbería y les hizo entrega de los certificados y de hicieron unas fotos.
El futuro es incierto, solo queremos que nuestros hijos estén preparados para la vida, si en algún momento Andrés se quiere dedicar a la barbería es un trabajo decente y lo importante es que le guste lo que hace y por los momentos eso es lo que le gusta, tal vez más adelante se interese por otra pero ya le va a quedar un conocimiento adquirido sobre este oficio, por ahora quiere hacer otro curso más avanzado pero todavía el profesor no lo ha cuadrado bien, posiblemente sea en los próximos meses y nosotros lo vamos a apoyar si el quiere seguir aprendiendo.
