***Hello friends, welcome to my blog***
[Busy, active weekends or quiet, relaxing weekends: which do you prefer and why?](https://peakd.com/hive-168869/@galenkp/weekend-engagement-topics-week-279)
Our tastes change according to our experiences, or I would say also according to our age. When I was much younger (I’m still young), but when I was 20 and working full-time during the week, all I wanted to do was go out partying on the weekends. I could go out on Friday night, go to the beach on Saturday, and come back on Sunday to rest so I could work again on Monday. While I was doing my postgraduate studies, I would go out on Friday, study all day Saturday, and go out again on Saturday night. Those were very busy weekends. At that age, you can do that and much more, especially when you’re single with no ties.

With the arrival of children and extracurricular activities, weekends became all about baseball. For the past ten years, I’ve spent my Saturdays and Sundays accompanying my son to his baseball games. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad. It’s been a fantastic experience and very rewarding. Being at the stadium is a lot of fun because we cheer on the kids, and while we support our children, we make friendships that can last over time. Plus, there’s also time to share and have a refreshing drink, especially when the championship is over and we’re the champions or runners-up. In addition, during this time I have also been studying for my degree, so on Saturdays I have had to go to the university and then rush to get to the baseball game.

I think the time has come when I prefer quiet, relaxing weekends, when I can stay at home watching movies or series, making popcorn and sleeping between movies, weekends when all I have to worry about is what I’m going to eat and whether I can buy food so I don’t have to cook, which is much better. It’s not that I haven’t done this before; I’ve had weekends like this occasionally, which is why I’d like to have more weekends like this. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve had very busy weekends that I now long for quiet weekends, or if it’s because with age and because I used to take advantage of weekends to enjoy myself without resting at all, now I don’t feel like I need to do much on weekends. I just want to rest and be at home in peace. Of course, it never hurts to enjoy a quiet and relaxing Saturday at the beach every now and then.
