In 2010 Mexico was shocked by the disappearance of Paulette, a 4 year old girl who was found dead a week later in a space between her bed and mattress. A case that moves the fibers of all of us who cannot believe that something like this happened to a defenseless being who also had a special speech and hearing condition.
The series that is on Netflix since 2020 focuses on the search for Paulette during all the days she was missing, the performance of the media in terms of the importance given to the case and the role played by politics in the search.

> En el año 2010 México se conmociono con la desaparición dentro de su casa de Paulette, una niña de 4 años que luego de una semana fue encontrada muerta en un espacio entre su cama y el colchón. Un caso que mueve la fibras de todos los que no podemos creer que algo así le pasó a un ser indefenso que además tenía una condición especial del habla y audición.
La serie que se encuentra en Netflix desde el 2020 se enfoca en la búsqueda de Paulette durante todos los días que duró desaparecida, la actuación de los medios de comunicación en cuanto a la importancia que se le dio al caso y el papel que jugó la política dentro de la búsqueda.
After the first chapter where they find the girl and start the investigations I made a mental movie in cases of other series I’ve seen where the investigators do find the culprit of the murder, but this being a real case and that from the beginning was influenced by politics had a lot of inconsistencies and vices where evidence was hidden or only showed what some people wanted to be known.
The handling of the media to show and influence the audience to see only what some wanted or thought was impressive. That not only happened in that case, we live it every day when we believe that everything that comes out in social networks is true and even in the media you see that they are not honest and issue a news in a subjective way making the population that follows them and believes in them to turn to a certain person regardless of whether he is innocent or not.

> Luego del primer capítulo que es donde encuentran a la niña y empiezan las investigaciones me hice una película mental en casos de otras series que he visto donde los investigadores si dan con el culpable del asesinato, pero este al ser un caso real y que desde el comienzo estuvo influenciado por la política tuvo un montón de inconsistencia y vicios dónde se escondieron pruebas o solo se mostraron las que algunos les convenía que se supieran.
El manejo de los medios de comunicación para mostrar e influenciar a la audiencia para que vieran solo lo que algunos querían o que se pensara es impresionante. Eso no solo sucedió en ese caso, eso lo vivimos a diario cuando creemos que todo lo que sale en las redes sociales es verdad y hasta en medios informativos ves que no son honestos y emiten una noticia de manera subjetiva haciendo que la población que los sigue y cree en ellos se vuelque hacia cierta persona sin importar si es inocente o no.
At all times the parents were suspected, although the father was the one who came out the least in the statements to the media and was the person with influence to speak for him, while the mother was the one attacked by the population for making comments out of place, few logical for a mother who is going through a moment of such anguish, but no one knows how she will react at a time like this.
What is certain is that when there is power things work at convenience, because it is almost impossible that a body has been where it appeared for 9 days and no one has noticed or smelled anything.
This series reminded me of a book I read some time ago called 4 Crimes 4 Powers by Fermín Mármol León where the author, from his experience as an investigator, narrates four cases in which he participated and in spite of having a guilty party he could not get a sentence, not even accuse anyone for the simple fact that one of the four powers – military, ecclesiastical, political and economic – moved their influences so that everything would remain silent and cover up what happened. In this case the same thing happened, politics and money managed the investigation to the point of closing the case with a solution that instead of clarifying the panorama left it even darker.

> Los padres en todo momento se mostraron sospechosos, aunque el padre fue el que menos salió en las declaraciones de los medios de comunicación y era la persona con la influencias para que hablaran por él, mientras que la madre fue la atacada por la población por hacer comentarios fuera de lugar, pocos lógicos para una madre que está pasando por un momento de tanta angustia, pero nadie sabe cómo va a reaccionar en un momento como ese.
Lo que si es cierto es que cuando hay poder las cosas funcionan a conveniencia, porque es casi imposible que un cuerpo haya estado donde apareció durante 9 días y nadie se haya dado cuenta ni haya olido nada.
Está serie me hizo recordar a un libro que leí hace un tiempo que se llama 4 Crímenes 4 Poderes de Fermín Mármol León dónde el autor, desde su experiencia como investigador, narra cuatro casos en los que participó y a pesar de tener un culpable no pudo lograr la sentencia, ni siquiera acusar a nadie por el simple hecho de que uno de los cuatro poderes Militar, eclesiástico, político y económico movía sus influencias para que todo se mantuviera en silencio y tapar lo sucedido. En este caso ocurrió lo mismo, la política y el dinero manejaron la investigación hasta llegar el punto de cerrar el caso con una solución que en vez de esclarecer dejó más oscuro el panorama.
