Every time I think I’ve cracked the code of Hive, every time I hit publish on a post, what happens? Ding!—a notification from Ecency: “endhivewatchers has downvoted your post.”
Excuse me? Who invited you to the party? And more importantly > who are you?
Since my registration here, I kinda know Hive is a decentralized, democratic, blockchain-y wonderland, where everyone is free to curate, upvote, and downvote as they desire. That’s the beauty of it. But still, something about this mysterious account popping up in my notifications like an unwanted garden gnome has me asking questions. ⁉️
Is endhivewatchers a person? A bot? A hive-mind experiment gone wrong? Or maybe, just maybe, a time-traveling dinosaur with a grudge against bloggers. 🦖 Arrrrr, awrr! Because at this point, all theories are equally valid.
Let’s explore the options, shall we?
- ~ The Human Option ~
Maybe it’s just some guy. Sitting at his laptop, sipping coffee with sugar, scrolling through Hive posts, and just smashing the downvote button like he’s playing some candy bet game. If that’s the case -> dude, what a heck? :)
And also, how do you even choose who gets the hammer? Do you roll dice?

~ The Robot Theory ~
Of course, one of the logical explanations is that it’s a bot. A line or two of code programmed to “protect the community” by hunting down spam, plagiarism, or low-quality posts. Maybe, maybe just the oposite. In practice, it feels more like the Terminator showing up to squash your 500 words about great weekend time on a nearby lake. Well, thanks, Mr. Robot. Very inspiring. -
~ The Dinosaur Hypothesis ~
Now, hear this one (my favourite). What if endhivewatchers is a dinosaur? Picture a T-Rex, sitting at a keyboard, furiously typing with its tiny arms, mad because nobody upvoted its last post about “Why Asteroids Are Overrated.” ☄️ In its eternal dino-rage, it roams Hive, downvoting innocent bloggers to cope with its extinction trauma.
Honestly, this theory makes about as much sense as anything else.
Anyway; What’s the Mission? That’s the big mystery. Is "endhivewatchers" here to protect Hive from evil spammers and plagiarists? Hmm, would like to be truth, but I think it's not.
This leads me to my next question: who are these “Hive watchers”? And why is our Dino fighting with "them" whoever they are? Sooo many questions, but let me know in the comments what do you think about all of this? Or you know exactly what's going on, so please introducite me to the point. Thanks! ❣️
