Hello everyone
Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all in this community @needleworkmonday i hope you all had a great weekend. It's time for us in this community to share our creativity, learn, appreciate and encourage ourselves from a job well done from what we share. Today, i will be sharing with you all the how i was able to make a simple wedding gown outfit for my neighbor for her wedding within her budget and you can see how simple and beautiful the outcome is
My neighbor moved in with her husband few months to their wedding and she came to me that she will like me to make a simple gown outfit for her for her wedding and she told me she didn't want to spend much on the outfit since its just for them to go the the registry with few family and friends, i asked to know her budget which would guide me on what to buy, she told me and we went to the market to buy the fabric of her choice which was within her budget.
When making the choice of style, we have to put her pregnancy into consideration so, i suggested she make a full flare gown with a simple upper bodice which was exactly what she agreed on and i began the cutting and sewing process.
For the upper bodice, i drafted out an off shoulder neckline on a brown paper after which it was transferred to the main fabric to be cut out for the front and back
It was sewn together with lining to turn the neckline for the front and back
For the front, i had to fix a breast cup to bust area and cut out an off shoulder long sleeve to be sewn to the armhole after the front and back were sewn together.
The upper bodice was set aside and i proceeded to the cutting of the lower part of the gown, i folded the plain fabric in to four to cut out a long flare with the waist circumference measurement plus zipper allowance and the full length measurement.
Unfortunately, the fabric was shorter on one side so i had to cut out another piece of fabric to join to the full length.
When sewing the plain fabric, it did not see on my sewing machine because of the texture of the fabric, so i had to try using candle but it didn't see as well then i tried using pieces of paper and it was done as you can see.
Fortunately, i had my client desired length because she wanted it to be a flowing gown which was actually achieved, the upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the gown and finally, i cut out some trimmings from the edges of the lace fabric and it was used as an embroidery round the neckline and it gave it a beautiful outcome.
The zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance at the back and the hem was interlock using the interlocking machine to give it a neat finishing
I hope you like how simple and beautiful the outcome looks just as my neighbor likes and appreciate it, she was so happy with the beautiful outcome as i was able to get this done within her budget with a little cost.
Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do enjoy your day and have a great week.
