I recently made this sling bag for my friend's little sister just as she has ordered it, I have been making different bag, wallet and pouch for the family but this is a special request from faith who is my friend's little sister and after I had made this, I so much love it for it usefulness and seeing this, I'm sure you will like it as well.
Faith was invited to join some of the girls in church to come assist in the the cleaning and clearing of the church premises, this is a thing of fun for the teen as they get to meet and have a great time when working, since there would be a lot of people that would come around, faith thought of a smart way to keep her phone safe and secure while working that was why she suggested that I make her a sling bag for her phone which she can hand across her body while working, I think that is a great idea as well. I had to think of something simple to make since it's just for her phone and probably some cash, then I came up with this simple mobile phone sling bag.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process of this simple mobile phone sling bag made with 2 pieces of fabric, lining, pressing button and detachable handle.
To make this, I measured and cut out 10 x 5" of fabric and 8 x 5" from another piece and color of fabric
The two pieces of fabrics were sewn together at the bottom just as seen below
I cut out two small pieces of fabric for the handle on both sides, it was folded and sewn together, after which it was dey aside
At the top of the main fabric, I folded it in and made a curve at the edge and it was placed on a lining to cut out same shape, the lining was placed on the main fabric with the two sides handle and was sewn together round leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out
The excess were trimmed off from the sides and was turned inside out through the opening I left.
I folded the other fabric up from where I joined both and it was sewn round as well as the opening and the top
I used my hand needle and thread to fix pressing button to the top of the flap cover and the other side as well.
Finally, I fixed a detachable long handle to the bag and this is the beautiful outcome of it with a phone in it.
