It's a beautiful day out here and I bring you greetings from this part of the world, I hope you are all doing great. I love the weather out here today as it has been raining since last night, I had to cover myself up until I remembered I have to meet up with the making of this gown outfit for my brother's daughter before the delivery date. Today, I will be sharing with you the cutting and sewing process of this simple and stylish gathered pleat gown outfit made for my brother's daughter using African print fabric.

Recently, my sister gave me a fabric to make same outfit for her two daughters which I did and the outcome was so nice, now, I have same fabric brought to me by my brother to make an outfit for her daughter as well, then I got to know it's a gift from one of our uncle to the children.

Here is the cutting and sewing process of the gathered pleat gown I made

With Glory's bodice measurement, I cut out x 3 of the waist circumference measurement and zipper allowance with the waist line to full length measurement and hem allowance.

I took it to the sewing machine to run a long stitch on it and after which it was gathered together and set aside

The upper bodice was cut out in a basic block pattern using her bodice measurement with a slanted V-neckline in front

I cut out a matching color lace to the front neckline to make a stylish design and it was sewn to the front bodice

A bias tape was sewn to cover the rough edges and to make a design on it before it was turned inside out with lining for neat finishing

The front and back were sewn together with a long side belt sewn to both sides

The lower part gathered pleat was sewn to the upper bodice with lining sewn to the waist line to cover the rough part

For the sleeves, I cut out a 360° flare using the armhole circumference and the desired length before i tape the edges with a bias tape round

Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference with the zipper sewn to the back and the hem was folded in with the hem allowance.

This is the final and beautiful outcome, I hope you like how lovely this outfit is.
