Sometimes ago, I made an outfit for my neighbor which she wore to an event, when her friend saw the outfit, she likes it and asked who made it for her, she was told I did and she promised to bring her fabric to me anytime she wants to make an outfit. Few weeks ago, she brought this fabric that she would want me to make a simple outfit for her on low budget which will no cost her much, with her specification, I made a straight skirt and a peplum blouse with basic sleeves for her with a beautiful outcome.

To make the skirt, I folded the fabric in two to cut the front part using her skirt measurement and the front was placed on another folded fabric to cut the back part with zipper allowance.

The front and back were placed on lining which was used to turn it for neat finishing the it was sewn together with the side seam and zipper at the back

The remaining fabric was used to cut out a basic back half length with zipper allowance 1761561341035.jpg

For the front, I drafted a princess dart bustier on a brown paper and it was transferred to the main fabric

I cut out warden and placed it on the center front while i placed the upper bodice on lining as well and it was used to turn it inside out.

I proceeded to cut a 360° flare from the main fabric with interfacing iron on it and lining to turn the flare.

The flare was sewn to the waistline of the upper bodice that was set aside round to the zipper allowance at the back.

After sewing the upper bodice, I folded the remaining fabric to cut out a basic short sleeves using the round sleeves and sleeve length measurement

It was folded at the hem and was sewn to the armhole circumference of the blouse, finally, the zipper was sewn to the back at the zipper allowance.
